The Philadelphia Union finally earned their first win of the season by defeating Columbus by a final of 1-0 on Saturday at PPL Park. It was a cross by Freddy Adu that resulted in a handball by the crew inside of the box which led to a successful penalty kick. [highlights below]
It was the only scoring on the day.
The Crew put a couple of flurries together late but the Union, who were without defender Danny Califf who was scratched during warmups with a hammy injury, held on for the much-needed win.
