When Andy Reid said talks between the Eagles and LeSean McCoy were progressing earlier this week, he wasn't kidding. The team announced McCoy has inked a five-year contract extension worth $45 million, with $20.765 in guarantees according to the Inq's Jeff McLane. The reworked deal runs through 2017.

The final numbers make McCoy the fourth-highest paid back in the NFL,
just ahead of Arian Foster (5 years, $43.5M), but well behind Chris
Johnson (6 years, $55M) and Adrian Peterson (7 years, $96M). Coincidentally, yesterday we theorized this was roughly the type of offer it would take to get Shady's contract done. Here's what we said:
Any way you slice it though, it looks like McCoy could be heading for somewhere just south of $9 million over no fewer than five years with a guarantee close to or in excess of $20 million until negotiations are final.
McCoy, who turns 24 in July, had arguably the best season of any runner last season, finishing fourth in rushing and yards per carry, and fifth in total yards from scrimmage. He led all players in touchdowns, crossing the goal line 20 times, and played significantly more snaps than any back in the league.
