Video: The Legend of Frandsen Grows

We've seen some strange base running calls at Citizens Bank Park in the past. I even tried to explain the quirky base-running rule with an expertly drawn diagram on the back of some official game notes back in 2010 when Michael Bourn appeared to get away with one.

But Kevin Frandsen defied the laws of physics with his remarkable stop-and-go dance move on the way to first after getting down a tricky bunt. I thought for sure he'd be called out, but the ump said he was safe. We'll take it.

Sweet body control by Frandsen, remeniscent of Jimmy Rollins' "Matrix slide" against the Brewers a couple of years ago.

The play allowed Utley to be moved over and save another bullet for the Phils in ninth which they failed to fire on, but John Mayberry Jr. finally -- mercifully -- ended things on a positive note in the 11th.

And the legend of Kevin Frandsen continues to grow.
