Phils Drop to Four Games Back with Loss in Houston

Share

The impressive run of eighth inning performances from young Phillippe Aumont came to an end on Thursday night in Houston. Charlie Manuel pressed his luck using Aumont for the third-straight day, but this time he and fellow young reliever Jake Diekman didn't deliver.

The loss coupled with a Cardinals win over the Dodgers dropped the Phillies to four games back in the wild card hunt.

With each loss, the Phillies are going to need help from the teams above them in the standings. Not only did they fall a game further back last night, but the Brewers jumped up on them a half game as well.

Winning out in Houston seems like a must at this point. How's your confidence in this team's chances after last night's loss?
