Both Charlie Manuel and Ump Bob Davidson Get One-Game Suspension

Share

Charlie Manuel and Bob Davidson were both told to go sit in the corner for 5 minutes (1 game) today for their competitive-expletive-shouting match on Tuesday afternoon. The official word from MLB is that Davidson "has received a one-game suspension for his repeated violations of the
Office of the Commissioner's standards for situation handling."

It's tough to argue with Charlie getting a game because the brim of his hat does appear to make contact with Davidson. That'll getcha every time.

According to Phillies beat writer David Hale, Charlie will serve the suspension tonight against the Red Sox. At least Manuel has the satisfaction of knowing that the umpire totally didn't act as an umpire should and MLB recognized it.
