Sneak Peak: Philadelphia Union Home Jerseys
Since seeing the mockups of the possibilities, we've been waiting for a good look at the actual Philadelphia Union jerseys, and now we have 'em. Here's a preview of the home kit:
Well, I'm gettin' one. They're fairly pricey at $109, but I can't pass it up. The navy and gold, which the Union calls "natural khaki," look great, and the Adidas stripes are classic as always. A line of light blue piping gives the crest a boost and caps the main stripes without having to awkwardly to the neckline or just stop abruptly. An extra nice touch: the back of the collar features the team motto, "Jungite Aut Perite," Latin for Join or Die.
No pics of the road kits yet, but we'll keep you posted as we see 'em. The jerseys will be available by the end of this coming week, but they can be preordered here now. Philly.com has some more info on the kits, although I'm not sure about running a black and white pic of them.
What's the verdict, Philly?

those are sick. by far the best kits in MLS.

Yeah.. dunno. They're VERY expensive, especially when you factor in that you can get new kits for good teams overseas for a lot less than that.
Design wise it's adidas' classic kit for the past couple years.

I like this one, but I'm a little confused. The Union's twitter page (@Union2010) provided another picture of the jersey which seems to be a darker, more navy blue and a lighter khaki color.

Thanks Walklett, that's a much better pic, so I swapped it in.

Looks like the Philadelphia fighting Irish. I like it a lot though. I'd buy an unofficial one, 109 is toorich for my blood

The $109 jersey is the authentic. They'll have replicas for around $70 or so.

Awesome...the next iteration will have the sponsor across the front.

In the USA we call these uniforms, with the shirt being called a jersey! Enough with this kit stuff! We are not in England!

Do we know who the Union's sponsor is yet?

Outstanding.
About 80$ more than I'd pay for one, but outstanding nonetheless.

That is midnight-green, red-pinstripe, early-'80s-all-caps-throwback classy right there.

Over/Under on how long the team stays in existance: 3 years.
What a waste. Should have built a small arena like the Giant Center or Sovereign Arena(s) to hold the Phantoms, concerts, conventions and other events all year 'round like the Spectrum used to do.
