Quotable: Harbaugh on Difference Between Eagles and Cowboys
There's a great line by former Eagles assistant coach John Harbaugh, currently the head man in Baltimore, in a new book called Game Changers, which chronicles the 50 best plays in Eagles history. When talking about the Eagles' ability to help keep the Cowboys out of the playoffs over the past 10 years, Harbaugh made this distinction about the two teams:
In the book, Harbaugh said what Reid and his program stand for "is the opposite of what the Cowboys stand for. The Cowboys are the star system. It's all about building around individuals first and collecting great players.
"Andy has always been about building a team. And over the long haul, it's a team sport. One of the greatest examples of that is what's happened with the Eagles and the Cowboys over the last 10 years. The Cowboys stand for everything that's wrong in the NFL."
This story came out yesterday, and Harbaugh has already apologized to PT Barnum Jerry Jones.
Let's see a little more of that domination tonight...

I find it odd that he felt strongly enough about what he said to put it into a book, and then he felt the need to apologize to Jerry Jones as soon as it comes out. Very strange.

Yeah, I'm not sure why he has to apologize for stating a fact. Cowboys being everything that's wrong with the NFL might be a little over the top, but their approach to building a team is certainly open for criticism.

My only criticism of Harbaugh is that he apologized.

Right now, both philosophies seem equally flawed.
It would seem you need a combination of both approaches.
