Phillies Take Home Another Award

Jimmy and Shane both took home Gold Gloves this year with Chase picking up another Silver Slugger. But there's another more unofficial award that I found to be quite interesting. The folks over at Baseball Prospectus give out an award for the best medical staff in baseball. While the Phillies have seen injuries to most of their stars over the past few seasons, they've been able to manage and deal with it well enough to get to two straight World Series. That speaks highly of the work done by Scott Sheridan and his staff.

Perhaps the most interesting bit from the BP article is the graph showing days missed and salary lost to injury. The Phillies are right at the top while another NL East team found themselves at the very bottom.
