Nobody Cares About Your Fantasy Team: Week Eight Results

Though most of our minds were on other things, week eight of the NFL season has come and gone, and damn was it ever a watershed one to be in an Eagles-focused fantasy league. As good as the Eagles' performance was on the field, it might have been an even better one on the stat boards, as a stunning seven separate Eagles--Maclin, Akers, McCoy, Jackson, McNabb, Celek and Weaver (!!!)--were worth double-digits in points this week, with the Eagles D lagging just behind with nine. In fact, with even little-used backup Alex Smith squeaking in one point, the only zero-scorers played in our league this week were Team Enrico's Brian Westbrook (injured, and likely not worth replacing anyway) and, of course, my own Edmonton Enigmas' Kevin Curtis (Is he injured or does he just kind of suck? Does it matter?)

Besides the Gang Green, the big story in our league this week was the snapping of Hayyy, Girl!'s impressive five-game winning streak at the hands of the Pigeon Boys (nee Koy Detmer's Neck Beard), in a high scoring 118-97 affair. Meanwhile, Team Vicktory's pulse-racing 93-89 victory against Kulp's Andy Reid's Drug Emporium puts him back in first place with his 6-2 record. Team Enrico continues to do his best to rep for the site with his 4-4 record, while my Enigmas revert to backsliding with a league-low 48 points (Shonn Greene, you tease).
