Joe Blanton to Start Game Four

With the taste of yesterday's horrible loss still lingering, news that Joe Blanton will be the game four NLCS starter can refresh the fan psyche and help us look towards winning the games ahead. Blanton was perhaps the most consistent of all the Phillies starters all season long and the decision to give him the ball for the first pitch of the game instead of using him out of the pen is a welcomed one.

And not to dwell on the past, but Chase didn't make any excuses after the game yesterday for his costly poor throw. He said he forced it, simple as that. Charlie says he'll correct it and we all expect him too. I particularly liked Joe Torre's take:

"Errors are part of the game and strikeouts and all that stuff,'' said Dodgers manager Joe Torre, who added about Utley: "I mean, I'd certainly like to have his problems. He's pretty damned special.'

Let's see some of that special over the next few days at CBP. What'dya say, Chase?

Also, I love this quote from Charlie. He sure does.

In other news, how does the Phillies' official twitter not know how to spell Charlie Manuel's name?

It won't matter. It's the Yankees year!!!

dale you snake

Dale would cheer on a Washington team instead if they had a pro baseball team. Oh wait, they do. Um, sort of in a Little League sense.

Dale would also cheer on the football and basketball teams if Washington had them

@DSD: Wait, don't they have a hoops team? The Generals, right?
