What Was The Deal With Sheldon Brown's 'Jason' Mask During Pregame Introductions?
Now, I'm not a horror movie fan, so perhaps I'm missing something, but I didn't really get the mask that Sheldon wore coming out of the tunnel. What's the story behind Jason Vorhees? Are we missing some deep meaning?
So what's the deal, Sheldon? ESPN's Brian Seltzer asked him about the mask without much of a response.
Sheldon Brown on wearing mask sported by horror flick killer Jason Vorhees in Friday the 13th film series:
"I don't want to talk about it. That's the way my career has been and I'll let you figure that out."
So you don't want to talk about your career?
What are your thoughts on the prop? My initial reaction is pretty negative. Football players shouldn't need props. Let your bone crunching hits on Reggie Bush do the talking.

I didn't see this until seein it here. Inititally I had a "cool" reaction, but without any real story or something to relate it to, it's not that awesome. What is awesome is a guy named Sheldon Brown playing for the Eagles wearing #24. I know what that's all about.

I like it. Set a tone early, just as Dawks always did (granted, it didn't exactly carry into the game). We've been wondering who was gonna step in as the high-intensity leader of this defense (and team), and I think Sheldon Brown is making a push for that position.
Also, I wasn't at the game, but I imagine he got the home-opener crowd pretty damn loud.
But, like you said, I would've rather knocking out Reggie again over any gimmick.

I guess it wasn't Friday the 13th, because Sheldon didn't show up.

The mask is bush league. And so was the Eagles defense today.

Yeah, that Jason masked really helped the Eagles get slaughtered!!!!

By the end of the game, the entire defense should have been looking for a way to hide their faces.

bet he gets fined for that
just like the offense last week
but not the guy from the Panthers that broke McNabb's ribs by kneeing him late...yea I'm still pissed about that bullshit

if the eagles won, everyone would have loved the mask. since they lost, it was stupid!!!!!!!!!111

He should just keep trying until the Eagles get a W.
Next week: Freddy Krueger's Glove.
Week 5: Michael Myers Mask
Week 6: If they don't won by Wk6, then he better ditch the mask, and put his head in a hole in the ground.

I thought the reason he wore it was to scare Reggie Bush because he "killed him" last time they met and he was out there to murder him... Hahaha I don't know.

I think he probably thought the fans were sore at him for the offseason headache he caused for a little while. Maybe this was his attempt to immitate Schmidt when he wore the wig and shades onto the field to get away from the boo-birds. I don't think Brown realizes that no one really cares anymore. Just freaking play.

He is a Jayson Werth fan...

I liked it. Charged up the crowd to start the game. The guys comes to play every week...maybe Josilo Hansen could use a mask or maybe a clue.

Well, that mask certainly foreshadowed the horror show to come.

@speederice
You do know the eagles won last week, right?
Posted by: Wawa | Monday, September 21, 2009 at 10:46 AM
i think those interceptions from week 1 got to his head a little...or maybe he considers himself the new Weapon X...as in Jason X

Just like in a the movies, he spent the whole show slowly chasing after people only to catch up, and then get killed. Good call brown... Good call......

How can the Eagles "choke again" in the 2nd game of the season, with a BACK-UP quarterback & a very YOUNG defense..against 1 of the best offenses in the league ?
Now Drew Brees in the playoffs, thats a fucking choke artist..so shut the FUCK up u beat the detroit lions & a very young Eagles team without there number 1 Quarterback.
ALSO FAGGOT, THE GAME PROBABLY WOULD HAVE TURNED OUT A LOT DIFFERENTLY IF HOBBS WOULDNT HAVE FUMBLED THE 2ND HALD KICKOFF & GAVE YOUS AN EASY START FROM THE 25-30 YARDLINE..IF YOU COULDNT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT YOUR TEAM IS PATHETIC.
now go suck a fat one.
"WHERE THEY AT WHO DAT ?
WHO DAT ?
DREEW BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES"

was he supposed to be drew brees' nightmare? also jason vorhees was from north jersey, along the delaware. maybe he was an eagles fan.

HAHAHAHA dirk dirgler had his first beer today, I would rather we play you guys in the dome, then sheldon brown could dress up like hurricane katrina, and trust me, katrina OWNS nawlinsss right DOUCHE?
WHO DAT?
That's mcnabb, hes rehabing to WHIP SOME ASS

Thought this was cool at first until I read his comment: "That's the way my career has been and I'll let you figure that out."
It's a self-centered move. He believes, like Jason, that he keeps coming back from the dead when people think he's done for. Meh.
