Game Chat: Victorino Finally Gets Some Rest as Kendrick Looks to Build On CGSO

Last week, the judge ruled the team must pay the city of Philadelphia the $8 million that was owed from construction of luxury boxes at Lincoln Financial Field. Today, he ruled on the team's counter-claim, giving the Eagles a $5 million win as a result of revenues lost from a canceled pre-season game in 2001 when the turf became unplayable.
The good news is, before the judge reached his decision, both sides agreed to adhere to whatever the ruling was, so this matter of what the Eagles owe the city should finally be settled for good. It's a shame with the deficits the full amount of money won't transfer to the city, but the team obviously had a legitimate claim. Of course, a lot of good will could have been restored had they simply decided to consider it a generous donation.
