Our fans are such fucking white trash it's unbelievable. Only in Philadelphia midway through raising the championship banner would two fat fucks decide it was ample time to fight over who was in line first for a cheesesteak. This is clearly why philadelphia gets a bad rap, retards like these two. Does anyone have common sense these days? Fuck.

Can't wait for this to hit the NY / National media.
Posted by: Chase Mutley | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:04 PM
ALL I WANTED WAS A CHEESESTEAK!
hahahahahha.
And yes, there are so many white trash fans sometimes it's ridiculous.
Posted by: enrico | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:05 PM
This happens in New York too. Don't just trash Philly for this kind of behavior. Case in point- Anybody remember that charcoal/baseball bat incident at the NY Giants game last season? Yea, exactly.

Every fanbase has them, but ours are louder than most so they get more attention. It's embarassing.

Fan 1: Jeff Garcia will start for the Raiders.
Fan 2: No he won't!
Fan 1: Yes he will!
Fan 2: (punch)

Dad?
Jesus Christ, that one dude is at least 45.
Posted by: Paul | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:14 PM
The guy in the Rollins jersey leads the National League in bitch slaps.
Posted by: Mike | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:25 PM
Bitch slaps = "small brawl".
Posted by: Phils Phan | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:42 PM
@ doubleh
besides that, it's also lazy journalism that adds to it too...why do research or strain yourself to write something original when you can just write "Santa Claus", "snowballs" "stadium jail" and "batteries"
Posted by: Phrustrated | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 09:56 PM
Fuck them.
Posted by: JayDashDog | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 10:02 PM
Okay, the one guy's like 20 years older than the kid in the jersey.
What a punk. The guy's practically a senior citizen!

"Every fanbase has them, but ours are louder than most so they get more attention. It's embarassing."
Exactly.
Let's face it, we have some of the WORST fans in the world.
Posted by: Mike | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 10:50 PM
I saw alot of this type shit last night. Fighting with each other come on cuz. Save it for when those faggot Mets and Red Sox fans come down.
Posted by: Leroy | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Meh.
Posted by: Mike H. | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 11:07 PM
that must be one fuckin tasty cheesesteak. Anyone remember that fight between the Phillies and Reds a few years ago. When Dunn charged Padilla on the mound and Lieberthal caught him from behind and took him down. Then while Dunn is laying face down on the ground Padilla walks up to him and sucker punches him right in the face. That was the greatest moment in any baseball fight of ALL-TIME
Posted by: Tommy | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 11:10 PM
@ Tommy
The greatest moment in baseball fighting history is definitely Nolan Ryan headlocking and beating the piss out of Robin Ventura.

Listen, winning a championship or living in a certain city doesnt make certain people not act like douchebags. Champs or not some people will always be scum
Posted by: duff | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 11:32 PM
@mike
we have the worst fans in the United States, I don't care how bad our fans our we aren't as bad as soccer fans from every other country in the world
Posted by: Andrew | Monday, April 06, 2009 at 11:34 PM
@Andrew: You are right. Soccer fans routinely kill each other in riots in other countries. Their sports go way beyond pasttimes--it's part of their nationalism. Politics and sports collide in a big way.
Let's hope it never gets that far in the U.S.
Posted by: doubleh | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 12:04 AM
If you look hard, it's an older gentleman, probably a Dad and two young adult idiots who were probably high or drunk. Notice how they ganged up on him. One held him from behind while the other slapped...key word is slapped...from the front. The old gentleman didn't initiate anything apparently from what it looks like. He was just trying to defend himself.
A shame.
Hey listen younger Phillies fans. Older people have been around this team for a long time. Just because you JUST started to like this team because of CBP and a World Championship doesn't give you the right to act like a disrespectful asshol.
Posted by: Dave | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 07:16 AM
two young jerkoffs that have been drinkin redbull and vodka olde city style and an older dude who was man enough to stand up to them. no wonder our generation gets a bad rep, some of them are pussies. be a man, wit
Posted by: will.H | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 08:38 AM
True, we aren't as bad as soccer fans, but they routinely kill the other team's fans, they don't fight with each other. I am under 25 myself and I feel that i am one of the few who go to a phillies game with an educated idea of what is going on. I know who our bench players are and i know who the other team has playing. It's a shame for my generation of fans that every 20-something just wants to goto a baseball game and get shitfaced. Say what you will about the Vet, but the Vet was about baseball, not drunk college bro's.
Posted by: mike | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 08:48 AM
@mike
"I'm 40! I'm a man!" But seriously, it's people like this that shit on our reputation.
Posted by: Steve | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 08:53 AM
I've been to a ton of games at other stadiums and I've never seen two fans of the same team fighting each other, while this is a regular thing at CBP.
It's the bandwagoners in the Utley jerseys who couldn't name anyone on the 04 team who always start this sh*t. I really hope we don't turn into "Red Sox Nation," but Jersey looks like they're trying to make that happen.
Posted by: Kent | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 09:10 AM
@mike
LOL! Are you really yearning for the past behavior of the vet?!?! Apparently you weren't old enough to have clear memories of the 700 level! From what I remember, drunk HIGH SCHOOL kids beat the crap out of eachother in the 700 level during a DAY GAME. People would be passed out, puking and pissing all over the place, rip cigerettes and god knows what else! Where do you think the stereotype of bad Philly fans started! It sure wasn't at Connie Mack!
Posted by: Duge | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 09:10 AM
To say that every city has consistently has this type of activity is false. Most western and southern fans care so little about their teams that this kind of stuff rarely happens. However, I guarantee that plenty of things happen like this in: New York, Boston, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, etc. Philly is a rough town in general, and that is reflected through our fan base. The same is the case for most north east cities and rust belt cities. Are our fans any worse than New York fans? Probably not. Are our fans worse than the typical St. Louis fan? Absolutely.
Posted by: Duge | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 09:17 AM
Imagine if you could have seen that fight from the vantage point that the espn camera had of the flag being raised. philly would be getting holy hell raised on it because there are three idiots in a group of 47,000. I think everyone is overreacting to a small pushing fest. In large crowds people can get agitated, it happens.

scumbags
Posted by: Brad | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 11:07 AM
"but Jersey looks like they're trying to make that happen."
I think thats a little bit of a sweeping statement.
Posted by: RUphillyfan | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 11:16 AM
There certainly seem to be more of these dbags coming out of the woodwork who are suddenly Phils fans. I guess its the unfortunate side effect of winning a championship. I just wish these fans would go back over to jersey or the linc.
Posted by: Brian | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 11:36 AM
Brian,
So all trouble makers and bandwagon jumpers come from from Jersey? Please. I saw plenty of dbags running around Broad St. the night of the World Series win, and I highly doubt they all flocked from over the bridge.

Does anyone have an extra 2008 Pennant that was given away on opening night that they'd like to sell at a reasonable price?
I see them on Ebay, for 30+ god damn dollars and then a recockulous $8.95 to ship.
Help me out, i couldn't attend opening night because i was at home fresh off of knee surgery!
Posted by: Beef | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 11:53 AM
Philadelphia fans are the worst in the US?? Really?? I mean sure there are fights (just like at every other stadium), but I never heard of anyone being killed at the stadium. Dodger fans like to stab fans and killed a Giants fan a couple years back. I would gladly take some bruises instead of a knife in the back. That being said, those guys are douche bags.
Posted by: Eddie Pinz | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 11:54 AM
Kent ive seen fans in other stadiums fight eachother, particularly at yankee stadium and paul brown stadium last football season. when you combine drinking, knuckleheads and opinions, things are bound to happen no matter where you are.
eddie pinz i was going to mention that. couple years back, a san fransico giants fan shot and killed a dodgers fan in the parking lot. although, a couple shoves near a food stand will surely grab the medias attention.

Stay Classy, Philly.
Posted by: Scott | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 12:46 PM
The "Stay Classy, _______" phrase is up there with "Schwing" and the Budweiser "Wazzzzup" in terms of awesome, relevant and not at all played-out sayings.
Posted by: Chase Mutley | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 01:18 PM
Go fuck yourself, Scott
Posted by: will.H | Tuesday, April 07, 2009 at 01:41 PM
It's assholes like this that are going to lead to more cops at tailgating and inside...just like Eagles games. Thanks dickbags.
