Quotable: Brad Lidge on Crab Fries
Brad Lidge may have been perfect in save opps last season, but that's not say he isn't human. Seems he falls prey to the deliciousness of Chickie's and Pete's crab fries just like the rest of us. And who can blame him? The stand is right next to the bullpen.
However, when combined with the adrenaline of taking the mound in a high-stakes situation, the smell of Old Bay isn't always aromatherapy.
Brad, right next to the C&P stand is a Brewerytown. A little Troeg's Sunshine Pils should take care of that stomach issue if it persists after the save. Keep in mind, they'll be done selling by then, so you'll need to send up for a pitcher in the fifth inning, keep it on ice. Goddamn I love ballpark food. We're almost there...

I wonder if he wastes a half hour in line to buy them as most people do during the game.

Crab Fries: Food of the God (of saves)

Have Sunday plan for upcoming season...not too keen on spending much money on concessions...anyone have any good corner cutting tips for saving coin at CBP?

@MikeY: you slick bastard. i was just taking the number out of the post when i got the comment notification.
I'd actually gotten it from Gammo, who lists 46-46 in his article.

@ Matt P.:
Yeah, i read the article after I posted and saw that and figured you got it from there.
But, you used ESPN as a source?
C'mon now...you should know better than that.
Also, any self respecting Phillies fan should know Lidge went 48 for 48 in saves last year...at least, I do anyway.
For this post, I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your soul.

I always just get to CBP early to snag my steak and a brew and dodge the lines. How is it a ballgame if you don't eat at it?

tailgate ahead of the game to save some coin

Gammons talks as if Jason Donald is definitely making the team. Is that the consensus from the Phils camp?

Crab Fries definitely make me want to retch after eating a couple. The old bay is just too overpowering. A complete waste of time standing in those lines during the game.
That is, unless you put those crab fries on top of some cole slaw on a Primanti's sandwich. I'm sure PhiPhan5648 will agree ;)

Hey Rev, yeah that's an interesting thread I'm seeing a few places. Comcast was saying the Phils are working him out at third, hoping to go ahead with the rumored position change. I don't think they'll want him up if he's not starting though, regardless of position. We'll see.

Bring your own food into the ballpark. I do this every game; subs, chips, soda, you name it. You just can't bring in cans, hard coolers, forks knives etc. But you can bring almost anything in.

I hear they're real confident Donald can hit MLB pitching though, so maybe he'll be the utility guy and right-handed bat off the bench? I did see Barkan interview yesterday on DNL.

Wait a sec... maybe the eagles have that same Crab Fry guy and that's what makes Donovan puke.
