Video: Brandon Jacobs Endorses the Eagles
Coming into Sunday's game, Brandon Jacobs was the man who struck the most fear in Eagles fans. After the Birds left Giants Stadium winners, the bruising running back admitted that he doesn't think anybody remaining in the playoffs can beat Philadelphia. Join Brandon and hop on the Philly bandwagon!
Thanks to MikeG for the link.

What I didn't understand was how the Giants utilized Jacobs and Ward today. Jacobs only got 9 touches in the 1st half and the Giants used Ward a bunch on 1st/2nd down in the 1st half.
Kind of puzzling but I was glad because it helped to put the Giants in 3rd and long a bunch and to make the Giants running game less effective overall.

I wonder if any of the NY guys on the WFAN or the national pundits are going to really say what killed the Giants today - Eli Manning. He was horrendous.
Yeah blame the wind (how does the wind cause a ball to be a duck right as it is released so often?), lack of player makers, or the Eagles pass rush (Giants' O-line largely did a good job of picking up the blitzes today and plenty of downs where Manning had alot of time).
Manning simply was horrendous and cost the Giants' the game today. Two awful INTs and had another two balls in the 2nd half (hit Mikell and Clemons right on the numbers) that could easily have been picked too.
There was really only one throw all day (the deep out that hit Hixon in stride when the Eagles blitzed on 3rd down in the 3rd quarter) that was a quality throw. That is pathetic regardless of the weather conditions.
All I have to say is thanks Eli. Add your sour puss to Peyton's from last week.

Thank you, Brandon Jacobs, for endorsing HOPE and CHANGE...
YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!

aside from kick off returns, did bradshaw touch the ball once? also, with jacob's big mean reputation, he didnt really capitalize on the times had the ball. he didnt have a terrible game, its just.. with his reputation you might think he was gale sayers.

bring on the Arizona Cardinals. I hope we get a few Pottsville Maroons stories in the next week that highlight the "curse" on the Cardinals.

Eagles are three point favorites in the early line. O/U is 48.

I realize it's become suddenly unfashionable to talk next season for the birds on this site but I feel this is the place to say that I think we should sign Brandon Jacobs in the offseason.
Go Birds--I'll see you all on Broad Street.

I'd love to be as confident as everyone else but I can't help but remember that the last time the Eagles went to the NFC championship game widely favored against a lightly-regarded franchise that had never even been to a Super Bowl before and that we had owned in the regular season, Tampa Bay shut down the Vet...

All too true Chris. I too am hesitant to assume the victory. It's gonna be a tough one on Sunday in Phoenix with that high flying Cardinals offense.
I give my take on things in a new blog post...yes my blog is back! Check it out at

Thats pretty cool of him.
Just hope the players dont buy into the media hype that the Cardinals are just going to roll over. Nobody picked them for either of their two games.

Wow you won a division game, congrats. Win a Superbowl then talk. Until then you are just the same old Eagles

Listening to WFAN this morning, Craig Carton said "Philly is our daddy. The Phillies beat the Mets, the Flyers are in first place over the Rangers and the Eagles sent the Giants home. No doubt about it."
I don't want to look past the Arizon Fitzgeralds either....but if the Eagles can smack Warner in the mouth - again - it could be a nice roll.
Steers/Eagles? We know who the Gov will root for.

actually, as much as i didn't like jacobs' antics during the week before the game, it takes a very big person to admit failure on this level.
thanks for the props, brandon.

The Giants used him so poorly. There were times where the Giants drive would be like this:
Jacobs run for 10 yards
Jacobs run for 5 yards (Jacobs out Ward in)
Ward run for -1 yards
Manning incomplete/interception
Unless he was still kind of hurt, or sick, or was out of shape from not playing...i don't know why they didn't just keep him in

Spoken like a true giants fan, Enjoy that superbowl cause that's your last one for a while, I wish my teams could win solely on luck and no talent but we just rely on teams like the phillies (2008 WS champions) and eagles (5 nfc championship games in 10 years) but hey i trust the boys in green to get it done, the loss for the giants could not have been more refreshing, i wish i could have seen all your faces yesterday just the sadness alone would make me smile for days, you're terrible fans, you're QB is a virgin and the Birds just steamrolled you in your own house, cya in tampa! ... oh you wont be there
