McNabb Wants To Retire As An Eagle, Says Deion Is Off
Donovan McNabb has been making the media rounds down in Tampa, even appearing as an analyst on SportsCenter, and he's been asked a lot about his future. Donovan rebukes Deion Sanders claims that he "knows" McNabb wants out of Philly. McNabb firmly states he wants to retire as an Eagle and notes, "Deion's not speaking for me."
The quote to come out of Five's time down in Tampa that I've enjoyed the most is the one about the Philly fans.
Now I know talk is cheap but it's nice to see Donovan, after all of the crap between he and the fans over the past decade, still says the right things about bringing this town a parade.
Here's a shot of McNabb at the Madden Party captured by Chris Mottram of The Sporting Blog which makes me wonder, what ever happened to that Super Five clothing line?
>>McNabb: 'I want to retire an Eagle' [Daily News]

You know, just the other day I was looking around for the Super Five clothing line...searches on google are less than helpful. I remember the initial line being displayed on a post here and it being pretty classy, slick looking stuff, much like Donnie is wearing in this shot.
Also, not that I ever believe anything that comes out of Deion Sander's chintzy mouth (especially when it comes to the Eagles), but it's nice to hear Donnie directly call out Deion as a fraud and a half assed analyst.

Where is the Wing Bowl 17 coverage? It was a glorious event today. Super Squibb destroyed it and a homeless man came in second.
Oh, and there were almost naked women dancing around and girls flashing the entire time.
Plus, it was an excuse to drink from 4 am to 10 pm

And in other "duh" news...anyone with half a brain could have told you Deion "Mr Primetime" Sanders was full of shite. And I'm sure there are days when Donovan wants to get the heck out of Dodge just like anyone of us do with our everyday jobs...but then he gets so close to the prize and he knows anywhere else he goes it could be a crapshoot. Better to deal with the devil you know, right?

The wing bowl is so 10 years ago...
Nice to see Donovan speaking for himself. Too many times you hear other people "speaking" for him. i.e. Deon, Irvin, Pam Oliver

D. McNabb is the best QB to ever put on a Philadelphia Eagles uniform, he takes too much unfair heat from the media and thinks because the media criticizes him that Philly fans feel the same way which is not the case, I love McNabb and would not want any other Qb on my team. Any Philly fan who wants to get rid of McNabb doesnt know football and even if you for some crazy reason thinks he stinks then good luck with Kevin Kolb he looks awesome

It is nice to hear he wants to stay here. Now let's add that receiver.

At first I only saw the beginning of that title and I read: "McNabb wants to retire." And I thought... WTF??? But then I saw the rest.
Great story, I know.

BrianPSU, you're an idiot. I'm no McNabb apologist, but you need to stop looking for reasons to hate on McNabb. He meant "bring a super bowl back to Philadelphia" in the same way that you say "I'm going to the store, and I'm gonna bring back some beer."

he didnt say a super bowl victory mr psu man, he meant a super bowl. use some fuckin context clues. its third grade.

I am glad to hear this story. I have always been a fan of number five, and will continue to be no matter what happens. When he is on, he is one of the best QB's in the league. He is also one of the most upstanding guys in all of sports. I hope Donovan is able to able to make good on his promise to bring a Superbowl (back?) to Philly. Until then, let's find him a good receiver or two to throw to.
