In Case You Needed a Little Pumping Up
Video sent in by Frank Petka. I imagine the Eagles pilgrims will be cranking a little By the Time I Get to Arizona this week too.

Does anyone remember when NFL network had a program showcasing the NFL's top players? They had a show all about Mcnabb interviewing him and at the end he talks about how his job isn't finished yet he still needs to win a Superbowl.....I'm not sure how relevant it is now because it was on years ago. But that would always get me excited.....Anyone remember the name of that?

The Philadeplphia/Baltimore Stars dominated the United States Football League. After winning their second title in 1985, the league folded. The Philadelphia Soul wins the Arena Bowl and the league then suspends operations. Would an Eagles Super Bowl title be a bad omen for the NFL? Crazy talk, I know, but I had to mention it. At least it makes defending one's title easier. Have they printed 2009 Arena League champions shirts for the Soul, yet? Get on it, Jaws!

Yo, I am one of those pilgrims. Anyone having a rally on Saturday night? I suggest the bar at Casino Arizona (The Indian Bend location). Eagles' fans should get together, drink, laugh, and let Arizona know where are representing.

oh yeah, MPR, how far is scottsdale from maricopa. do i bother leaving the airport and go straight to peprally or is it reasonably close?
Posted by: will.H | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 01:09 PM
maricopa is south of phoenix/scottsdale it's about 25-30 min drive. the airport is much closer to scottsdale (esp this bar) than maricopa is.
MY BUDDY IS SELLING 4 TIX, LOWER LEVEL/ENDZONE 250 EACH - ANYONE NEED TICKETS? EMAIL ME OFF THE LIST ASAP.

I wish I could be joining you all out there. You're gonna have a blast at the pep rally. The one in Minneapolis was awesome. Gotta hand it to them , the Green Legion does it up right.

Posted by: BrianS | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 01:40 PM
haha, no its ok man you were a big enough help regarless of the tickets. the agony of waiting does not compare to saving a few bucks. i could not have waited until today to have a flight but no tickets. I will try to be at that peprally at the upperdeck. thats where the green legion will be too right?
Posted by: will.H | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 01:43 PM
it's my understanding that the upperdeck place in scottsdale will be where EVERY birds fan in the area will be...

The last Phils WS win was in 80,which turned 180 degrees clockwise is 08. Eagles last championship was in 60,which turned the same way is 09:Coincidence?
Posted by: SOG | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 02:34 PM
SOG i like the thinking, but on the contrary, we won a WS title in 1980 and months later the birds lost in the superbowl. hope the 60-09 thing rings true though, eventhough it would be a small blurb in history.. it would entertain us. mostly, we can thank the brilliant workers that built the comcast building.

So we're due to win another basketball champtionship in 'E8? :p
Posted by: Gaze | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 04:44 PM
The Sixers: 2038 NBA champs!
The Flyers: 2057 NHL champs!
shit i don't like the sound of those...
Posted by: Stevek | Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 07:43 PM
SOG,
The Phillies wore alternate jerseys and caps based on what they wore at home in the 1948 season...an Eagles championship season.

I'd love to hear a song from Sonny Forrester Jr. (The three-strikes your out singer guy") with a football twist. Now that would both pump me up and put a smile on my face.
