Gags Hurt, But Flyers Win

The two points earned by the Flyers on Tuesday night came with a price—how heavy, we don't know yet.

Simon Gagne was hit from behind, away from the puck, by Kevin Bieksa. No call. Maybe we should hold our breath for Toronto justice though, right? Mike Richards didn't, going right after Bieksa, who got the better of him. Richie made a statement though, and he continues to prove himself a worthy captain at every opportunity.

Jeff Carter added to his league lead in goals to open the scoring, and he assisted on the Flyers' second goal, scored by Scott Hartnell. Harts would have trouble finding the net the rest of the game despite plenty of breakaways. Claude Giroux looked sharp, playing six more minutes than he did on Sunday and assisting on Carter's tic-tac-toe goal. Jon Kalinski scored his first NHL goal, and the Flyers put away the Canucks, 3-2.

Gags didn't return after the Bieksa hit, and he's been labeled with the customary upper body injury. It's believed he has a shoulder separation or possibly a dislocation, but that's just specu-lation at this point.
We should know more tomorrow. If he's going to be out for awhile, he could move to the long-term injury list (must miss 10 games), which should allow the Flyers to maintain their current roster when Danny Briere returns.

Marty had 29 saves and didn't throw up on his jersey, so he appears to be over that flu.

The disciplinary office is a joke. They have embarrassed themselves with the Avery suspension and the Crosby ball-punching incident.

good to have kimmo and Matty car back.

Those canadian whores for the old city line and the rest of the team really gave them a spark that CHI and hole-in-the-ground COL could not provide

As long as it isn't the dreaded CON-CUSS-ION.

Here's what Tim Panaccio is reporting on Gagne:

CSNPhilly.com: Panaccio: Gagne Out a Week with Shoulder Strain

HockeyBuzz.com: BREAKING NEWS: Gagne Out About A Week

...on that hockeybuzz link, he also says something about Randy Jones' hip being sore, but no link or anything else about it.

i just wish we could talk to some of the shits in tornoto's NHL office and ask them what exactly has to happen for there to be a suspension. also, after something happens, what mother fucking criteria do they use to warrent how long it is? What are their meetings like and how ridiculous is their credibility?

Wait til the Canucks come to Philly...oh, right. we only play them once. love the scheduling.

I forgot that the Flyers haven't lost in Vancouver since 1989.
