So did you wake up this morning to find that Phillies World Series DVD you were hoping for? I was a good boy this year and Santa was very, very good to me. Apparently, he thinks you're never too old for video games as I found a wonderful new Wii Fit under the tree. And a Phillies World Series Santa hat. Yes!!!

For today's giveaway, we're going to pick two items from the last 11 days but we're not telling you what it is so you'll find out when it arrives.

McNabb wants a new contract; I'd give it to him in addition to another wideout. The Flyers want a Stanley Cup run; the way they're playing they're well on their way. The Sixers want to find out if their young guys can play while Brand is out; they're getting it and hopefully a high lottery pick in the process (this year's college class is gonna be nasty). As for the Phils, Christmas came a couple months early and I cannot wait for April.

I'm back in PA to spend the holidays with my parents. Mom's a nurse and had to work today, so we haven't exchanged gifts yet (we gave the kids enough to tide them over for now).

I can tell you that among the gifts I have for my dad are the Champions book and a two-picture frame with Ruiz running into Lidge's arms in one slot and my dad, me, and my oldest daughter together at the parade in the other.

Well I didn't get anything yet; I'll be coming to Philly tomorrow. My mom's making authentic margaritas and some Spanish hors d'oeuvres. I'll unwrap. I'm sure I'm at least getting "The Perfect Season."

This year I endured a tragic apartment fire that lost me everything. I also moved twice, each time with almost nothing to my name. I endured a painful breakup and a year of nothing much else, romantically. And I lost my dog of 10 years.

But all I ever wanted I received one cold October night. I was able to call my dad, screaming, crying, because the Phillies had won the World Series.

Since I'm in Russia, the stuff from my family is stuck in the mail system. My girlfriend's family is in town, so we agreed to exchange gifts on New Year's, when most Russians have their big festivities (Orthodox Christmas isn't until sometime in mid-January, and during the Soviet period, it became tradition to do all of the Christmas hoopla--tree, gifts, Santa, etc.--on New Year's).

But I can tell you guys about a small gift that I got for myself. At the big souvenir market in the city, I found a dealer selling sports-related stuff. I bought a hand-carved, hand-painted Santa statuette, wearing orange and black robes with a Flyers logo on them, holding up a mini Stanley Cup in one hand. It's fairly ridiculous, but hopefully that's what Santa brings for Richie and co. come June.

Along with paying the balance of my 2009 ticket and a print of the professional photo of me with the World Series trophy, my Phillies gifts were a bit more homespun: My mom took my NLDS and NLCS rally towels and sewed them together to make what we are calling "the Phillow." My aunt gave me a gift certificate to have my WS rally towel and ticket stub framed, along with the "This Way to Phillies World Series Parade" sign I stole from Suburban Station.
