Sixers Attempt to Knock Down the Champs Tonight in Boston

Images3 The Sixers will try to bounce back from a tough loss on Wednesday to the Magic at the Wachovia Center. The Sixers were down early against a good Orlando team but fought back and had a lead in the final minutes but couldn't hold on. Elton Brand was hitting some big shots down the stretch but Iguodala and Miller couldn't get the ball in the basket when it mattered most. Andre Miller made an awful decision to heave a half court type shot as a last desperation attempt but he did so with almost three seconds left on the clock. Even in the postgame, Mo Cheeks seemed unhappy with Miller for that shot selection.

And that brings us to tonight and the defending champion Boston Celtics.

The Sixers will have their hand full with the 14-2 Celtics who have lost only one game at home all season. The Inquirer points out today that the Sixers have struggled on the road this year:

They are 2-5 on the road. In the next two weeks, they will enter a grueling stretch that includes the Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers (12-1), the Detroit Pistons (9-5), and the Cleveland Cavaliers (12-3).

They'll certainly have they're hands full with KG, Pierce, and Allen, not to mention the hot Rajon Rando as of late.

The Sixers defense will have to show up and play tough for the full 48 minutes tonight if the Sixers want to hang with the best. That and they'll have to do a better job converting on decent looks on the other end.

At this point in the season, hanging tough with the best on their turf could be a big boost for this team.

Tip off in Boston is at 7:30.

Maybe the Sixers should start checking out this site more...maybe then they would of known there was a game tonight...pathetic!

Dalembert needs to be benched, bring is Speights. Try to move Iggy.

I didn't think they were going to win tonight, but I thought they would have at least fought a little bit harder than that. Complete spanking. They are certainly not ready for primetime.

I've watched almost every game this year... something is just... wrong. All signs point to Iguodala, but to quote Bill Simmons: "The Sixers are built around the 2001 Clippers (Elton Brand and Andre Miller".

There needs to be a change made... and Thaddeus Young is the only untouchable.

The problem is predicted in this headline. There ended up being absolutely no "attempt" of any kind on the Sixers behalf.

Iguodala is such a scrub. Funny shit about the 2001 clippers haha. Iggy isn't a 2. He's a defensive 3 who can dunk cant dribble can't score period. Get him off my television please.
