Kolb Starts Second Half for Eagles
Wow?
Donovan has been in big trouble for at least a game and a half, and Big Red has benched him. Is this the start of the Kevin Kolb era, or just a temporary move to rejuvenate a lost team?

Never thought I would see this happen mid-game
Posted by: kevin | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:04 PM
it's gotta be temporary.
(hoping the reverse psychology works again)

Given Andy's MO, unless Kolb lights it up for 300 yds and 4 TDs, it's back to McNabb for turkey day. But then again, who would have guessed this second half move?
Posted by: joe l | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:05 PM
Shocked.
You can already see on the first series though, you can take the QB out of the offense, but the predictable play calling isn't going to change.

Baby steps. First Kolb, next move - evening out the pass:run ratio?
Posted by: kevin | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:06 PM
Wait Kolb only went 1/3 and the Eagles had to punt? He isn't Jesus afterall...NOOO!!!!
Posted by: David F. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:06 PM
I love it. Whatever the reason, and if it was me it would be to see what I've got in KK for next year, this is a move that needed to be made after the first half of this game, if not sooner.

Idiots

Posted by: David F. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:08 PM
How did the refs miss that call?

Wake up white people!
Posted by: DanielCarver | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:11 PM
@ David F noone said he was jesus but maybe he's better than what 5 has brought lately
Posted by: J.P. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:11 PM
im tired of andy and im tired of donovan. at least they are giving this kid a chance. too bad they aren't giving him decent plays.
but at least someone had the balls to pull donovan.
Posted by: yatesy | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:11 PM
mcnabb's bad decisions only made reid's playcalling worse
this is a lose, lose situation for kolb against this defense
Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:11 PM
Desperate move by a once good now lousy head coach to save his A@@ and throw the QB under the bus......Hey if Mcnabb kept it up and continued to play bad I can understand a change nex week even. But you just don't do that to the QB that has done ALOT for this team for 10 years. If Mcnabb is done I hope Andy is done!
Posted by: HLH | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:12 PM
thank god!!!
Posted by: andy | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:13 PM
Regardless of your feelings on Donovan, I agree with some of the previous comments in that the biggest problem with this team is Andy's playcalling and personnel decisions.
If he tries to throw McNabb under the bus after all these years of 5 putting up with bullshit receivers like trash and stinkston, then there is no justice in the sports world.

i love the daniel carver reference.
excellent.

We are approaching rock bottom. A Thursday shutout is completely within reason.
Posted by: joe l | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:19 PM
It's all coming unglued...
Posted by: Kulp | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:20 PM

rock bottom
Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:20 PM
HAHAHA This team's incompetence knows no bounds!
Posted by: David F. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:21 PM
i think each game is getting worse
Posted by: Zack | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:21 PM
By the way, over/under on the number of snaps until Eagle fans are calling for AJ Feeley?
Posted by: David F. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:21 PM
It's still a one possession game!
...
The Ravens are right where the Eagles want them!
...
They can still pull this out!
...
...
Delusion is a wonderful thing.

can we petition the team for an ACTUAL blackout on thursday?
Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:22 PM
Oh boy. Anybody remember the mid-90's? Yea, me too.
Posted by: Joe | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:23 PM
yea...i would prefer the game on thursday to be just a NFL network game so I don't have to suffer through it
Posted by: Zack | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:23 PM
This offense is just plain dreadful. Though Mcnabb was horrible in the first half, the coaching is just as bad
Posted by: Liam | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:24 PM
Good grief, Andy's in challenge everything mode.
Posted by: joe l | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:28 PM
andy reid just made the same face we've all been making all day
Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:28 PM
That right there is a damn fumble. These refs stink. Didn't any of the officials learn anything from Ed Hochuli blowing the whistle too quick?
Posted by: Liam | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:29 PM
And seriously, FALL on the fucking ball, take the turnover
Posted by: Liam | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM
Andy Reid is just becoming a joke
we all know he mailed in last season...and this year he might be worse
Posted by: Zack | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:30 PM
Looks like the Titans are going down today.
Posted by: Mike | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:31 PM
I wish I could throw a challenge flag . . . at Andy Reid
Posted by: R.S. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:31 PM
I don't at all blame McNabb, 18:2 pass:run ratio? bullshit, he had 1 bad pass the pick to ed reed. the other one was Jackson's fault, it makes it really easy for the other team to play defense when you run the ball 6 times throughout the course of the game. Its time for reid to go, hes a fucking dipshit
Posted by: WeaponX20 | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:32 PM
Not falling on the ball just cost us 50 yards, awesome.
Posted by: Ryan | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:32 PM
can we bring back Jeff Garcia? Please?
Posted by: Jason | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:32 PM
@ Krish
Don't you dare start such a petition...
This shit is too good to miss!
Posted by: Kulp | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:32 PM
Buckhalter? Um. Remember him? FFS.
Posted by: joe l | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:34 PM
Can we lead a receiever downfield ever?
Posted by: Liam | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:34 PM
Do we still think putting Kolb in against a top defense was a good idea?!? Fucking reid is going to shatter the kid's confidence!
Posted by: David F. | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:35 PM
Kolb fuckin sucks too. this team is done. fuck this . . .
Posted by: Mitch | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:35 PM
dont worry, i will be there thursday, maybe i will wear RED instead of black
should be "interesting"
not much to be "thankful for"
Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:36 PM
I will pay for a "RUN THE DAMN BALL, ANDY" banner for anyone going to the game on Thurs.
Posted by: joe l | Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 03:37 PM
You have to be a dope any of you think Kolb is the future here as a starter. Another wasted draft pick.
