How About A Birds Win for Dessert?
Ahhhh, Thanksgiving. One of the few days of the year when you can eat absolutely anything you want and not feel guilty about it. And then eat some more.
We're lucky this year to have some Eagles football to enjoy as we sit on the couch and follow up our turkey feasts with a few cold ones. The Cardinals are a pretty hot team and come into Philly with perhaps the best receiving corp in football and a quarterback in Kurt Warner who is playing at MVP levels. This will be a tight football game.
The Iggles will be without Correll Buckhalter and will turn to the exciting playmaking abilities of Lorenzo Booker to back up the hobbled Brian Westbrook.
Perhaps an even bigger absences will be the hole in the secondary due to the missing Asante Samuel. While Sheldon Brown and Lito Sheppard are fine corners, once you get to the Joselio Hansons and Sean Considines of the world, things get a little hairy.
I wrote earlier that I hope the fans at the Linc treat Donovan with some class early and I believe that. After the game starts, the Birds' play should dictate the atmosphere.
Things have been bleak for the Birds the past few weeks, but I'm looking for a win tonight at home. We're due.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you out there. Thanks for reading and go Birds!

Posted by: Stevek | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:28 PM

Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:37 PM
Who is this team?
And what have they done with the Eagles?
Posted by: Mike H. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:40 PM
Where has this been all season?!?
See Andy, this is what happens when you RUN THE FOOTBALL and don't throw 40 yard passes downfield on 3rd and 1!!!
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:41 PM
@ Mike H.
Who cares who they are, they can stay as long as they keep playing like this.
Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:42 PM
Yeah, Q-Mike!
Wowey-wow-wow...the D is stepping up tonight!
Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:44 PM
Must be the jerseys.
Posted by: lacboi | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:50 PM
We really need to keep running...that last drive we went 3 and out on three passes (one was completed, another resulted in a sack.) This drive so far 2 runs gets us nearly 10 yards. Arizona can't stop it!
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:55 PM
Damn...the camera guy got faked out of his shoes on the one.
Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 08:57 PM
Hank Baskett! What a catch!
Keep runnin that ball . . .

Wish I had Westbrook in fantasy.
Posted by: Mitch | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:01 PM
@ Mitch
Not the past few weeks you didn't. Now he finally looks like his usual self and I have a bye! Go figure!
McNabb fantasy points last week: -4
This week (1st half so far): 15
Westbrook fantasy points last week: 5
This week (1st half): 27
Granted we are playing the Cardinals, not the Ravens, but still...
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:06 PM
@ Mitch:
I was a little hesitant on starting him this week because he hasn't put up very good points the last few weeks...my other 2 backs are MJD and Hightower...i'mso lgad I did since I'm playing a guy who has Chris Brown from Tennessee.
I know, I know...no one cares about my fantasy team...blah, blah, blah...

Posted by: Nick B. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:16 PM
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
Posted by: Alex F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:21 PM
Wow, horrible call right there.
Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:21 PM
Way to give Arizona 7 points ref...fuckin jackass.
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:23 PM
Wow then the refs come right back and fuck us over on a no call on PI in the endzone. To top it off Jean Giles gets hurt when the drive should be already over.
I sincerely hope these refs get reamed by the NFL for this job in the first half. Fucking pathetic.
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:39 PM
I'm glad andy finally remembered that you can run and pass its not either or
Posted by: J.P. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:53 PM
I'm sitting next to a Cardinals fan trying to tell me Warner will bring the comeback. I'm too much in the bag to figure out if he's right...
Posted by: Mike H. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 09:55 PM
Only jake plummer leads the cardinal comebacks against the birds
Posted by: J.P. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:01 PM
Yea Warner will lead AZ to a comeback when the Cardinals a.) get a run game and b.) give Warner time to throw . . .
The Eagles are actually doing everything right . . . for once
Posted by: Mitch | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:02 PM
Team record 4th TD in a game baby!
Posted by: Mitch | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:22 PM

Posted by: zachman | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:23 PM
If we played like this every week we'd be in the playoffs easily.
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Wow - BWest.
Playoffs or no, this is still enjoyable. Good day, I love America.
Posted by: Nick B. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:25 PM
@ Mitch:
Tied a team record with the 4th TD (Irving Fryar)
Posted by: MikeY | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:26 PM
Anyone else notice this knucklehead calling the game with Collinsworth can't say Warner's name? Water, Warren, Wanner, WillyMo.
Posted by: Nick B. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:30 PM
@ MikeY
Haha thats what I meant. Thanks dude.
Irving Fryar, wow, old school! Loved him.
Posted by: Mitch | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:31 PM
How much are the cardinals paying the refs? 7 against us, just 1 against them, with several blown calls.
Posted by: David F. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:32 PM
Is it just me or is the camera work real shitty?
Posted by: J.P. | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:38 PM
If you play what Collinsworth says in reverse...It says "I worship McCarver"
Posted by: thegreatwarden | Thursday, November 27, 2008 at 10:38 PM
haha i really didnt miss listening to joe buck
