Football Food For Eagles Fans - Week 13
The Eagles actually didn't make us all lose our Thanksgiving feasts yesterday and performed quite well against the Arizona Cardinals. While some of you may have been working on some apple pie during the game, Mark used some leftovers to make a delicious looking bruschetta type snack.
From Mark's flickr page:
I wasn't about to try to prepare something related to Arizona (fried cactus maybe?) tonight. Instead, I tried to do something tasty with, yep, left overs.
On a plate that had some hot gravey, I placed a piece of thick country bread that I had grilled. On top of that, some chopped turkey, homemade cranberry relish (sauteed cranberries, 1/2 cup sugar, juice of a full orange, Contreau liquor) and some sweet potatoes on the side. On top of all that, some crumbled, melted, Bleu Cheese.
In the glass, some Yuengling Black & Tan.
Also in the glass, but not shown, my typical Thanksgiving tradition...a wee dram of LaPhroaig Single Malt, an intense, peaty scotch that I always open on Thanksgiving night as a way to help usher in, and warm me from, the approaching cold of a New Jersey winter.
Good win, good food, good drink, and good family & friends. That's a solid Thanksgiving.
Thanks to Mark as always and you can check out all of the food archives here.

Blue cheese is the universal condiment.

The Birds play one of their best games of the season during prime-time and all the coverage it gets on this site is one sentence? Seriously!?!?!?!?! Wow, what a shame.
