I'm sorry to say it, but I think the sooner Andy Reid and Donovan McNabb are gone the better. Thanks for 10 good years guys, but you both look lost our there right now.

dumbass
Posted by: slowski | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 06:53 PM
Said it after the Saints playoff game, this team will never win with this guy QB'ing, and that guy coaching. What a joke. This right here sums up this season.
Posted by: gregotto | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 06:55 PM
I wouldn't get on him too hard about that. And I openly don't like the guy.
Posted by: Not a fan of five | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 06:56 PM
i love mcnabb. i would be sad to see him leave on such a bad note. reid, i could live without. he has never been that great, but he has also never been THIS bad. no idea what's going on with these two. but to tie the bengals? it's time to go.
Posted by: jtq1 | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 06:57 PM
How the hell did he not know there aren't ties in the NFL? Huh? Kick him out of the league. How can you not know? I don't get it? Put in Kevin Kolb.
Posted by: Somebody who is not a dumbass! | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:01 PM
whats the point of him playing anymore this season?
Posted by: slowski | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:04 PM
ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?!?!??!
what an incompetent boob.
is it illegal to threaten murder via a blog comment? i ain't sayin', im just sayin'
unreal.
Posted by: MPR529 | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:12 PM
I'm guessing McNabb's played in a lot more NFL games than all of us combined, but has probably watched a fraction as many as every single one of us on our own...
Posted by: EastFallowfield | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:13 PM
And what exactly was he supposed to do to untie the game? The same thing they couldn't do all day?
Posted by: EastFallowfield | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:14 PM
Are you fucking kidding me? Bench that goldbricking son of a bitch after the next loss.
Posted by: tw | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:15 PM
I wonder if Andy knew.
Posted by: Trevor McFur | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:17 PM
no, im serious, is this a joke? im flabbergasted (i think that's a terrible word, but i got no other words to use), no really, is this video doctored?
ha can't be that stupid, can he? it'
s not like you asked him to describe icing in hockey or hell, explain the infield fly rule.
this is the sports he's been playing for 20 years. 10ish at the nFL level. i mean, what!?!?
Posted by: MPR529 | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:21 PM
While we kill McNabb for not knowing the rules, the ref in Pittsburgh called an illegal forward pass on SD on a play where the Steelers picked the ball off the ground and ran it in.
Ref actually thought about it and said, penalty declined, Touchdown! Creating a new rule that you can pick incomplete illegal passes off the ground and run em in.
It's not just McNabb that doesn't know the rules.

Posted by: theKrisheim | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 07:45 PM
what else is new? he cost the eagles the game..again. stop the madness and bench donovan and get rid of the "fat man".
mcnabb has no fire. he is not a leader or a winner.i am tired of his smile after interceptions and bad passes. andy reid is arrogant and pompous. he thinks he knows more than all the coaches that came before him. he does not need a running game or a go to wide out. he, reid, has cost this team 4 wins, and maybe evena 5th. 3rd and 1 again and again and again.
no more. i will not watch or support an andy reid team.

Story coming out, Giants insiders talk about HGH and new type of hormane usage that made Strahan, Jacobs, Tuck and others gain muscle fast illegally. Apparently the NFL can't test for it . Some inside trainer who got fired. Will make Belecheck look like a saint.
Posted by: 88man | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:01 PM
i'd say mcnabb not knowing there are ties, is about on par with a ref not knowing a roughing the passer call.
Posted by: yellowbird | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:02 PM
Auld Lang Syne - Big Red & #5 are done.
Let's bring in Bill Cowher and build a smash mouth winning team that can run and stop the run and bury the West Coast Offense forever. Donovan and family can have dinner with John Madden and Andy can go to counseling with his sons. Thanks for everything but enough is enough!

I'm flabbergaster, or flummoxed, or flucking disgusted, or all three. I don't know. There's been a tie in the NFL, involving a relevant conference foe, since Donovan was a starter in the league. How is it even possible he didn't know there could be ties? Any ounce of faith I had left in him is gone. Bring on a completely new era.
Posted by: Andy | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:29 PM
@EastFallowField:
You're a fucking idiot. I watched the SD-Pitt game. The ref ruled there was an illegal forward pass on the last play of the game, on a lateral from LT to chris chambers. Chambers then tried to lateral to Rivers/O-lineman/No one, the ball was on the ground, recovered by Polamalu for what was at first ruled a touchdown but then reversed to an illegal forward pass on the last play of the game. And it was reversed to forego the need for an extra point because they couldn't clear the field. And yes, Donovan's a fucking idiot just like you for not knowing the rules about ties.
I know there are ties in the NFL because a)I watched the Eagles and Ravens tie 10-10 to essentially end our 1997 playoff hopes when I was 13 years old, and b)I watched vick and tommy maddox tie 38-38 on a crazy-ass hail mary ending caught by plax at the 1 who fell backwards and came within inches of crossing the plane as overtime ended. That's 2002, while Donovan was in the fucking league as a starting QB and I was a freshman in college. You're both fucking idiots, end of story.
Posted by: Andy | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:36 PM
Also...that SD-Pitt ruling created the first 11-10 final in NFL history. 12,000+ games before one ended 11-10. So that ref in pittsburgh kinda did geeks like me a favor by reversing the final touchdown.
Posted by: Andy | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:38 PM
I didn't know you could throw three picks and not get pulled from the game.
Posted by: misterpet | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:41 PM
I bet this will sell out more than the Linc does the rest of the year.
Posted by: Mike H. | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:45 PM
I wonder if the Two GreenMen knew the rule.
Posted by: dUb-iLL | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:47 PM
Is McNabb on drugs or just an idiot? Seriously, it's time to go. How does he not know that teams can tie when it happens at least once per year? We need a change.
Posted by: John Fire | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 08:49 PM
Wow, there are some fucking morons on this site tonight. JON FIRE, yeah, you you dumbass. Teams tie at least once a year? You fucking stooge, that was the first tie in six years. Let none of this take away from McDickbag and his complete lack of knowledge of NFL rules, but you sir are a fool.
Posted by: Zeke | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 09:40 PM
mcnabb has one bad game and you want him out, thats pretty ridiculous.
reid, get him out now.
but kevin kolb is not better than mcnabb right now
Posted by: stevefredericks | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 10:28 PM
Anyone else vomit in their mouths a bit hearing Marion Barber compared to Brad Lidge just now?
Posted by: Andy | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 10:58 PM
All they need to do is win a couple games and get on a roll....
Posted by: HLH | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 11:07 PM
@Andy:
No, I thought it was an awesome cheap ploy to reference the 2008 WORLD PHUCKIN CHAMPS...cowboys or not, bringing this up always a +
@SteveFredericks:
Mcnabb hasn't had one bad game, sir. If he had just one then our record wouldn't be 5-4-and one...AND ONE!...Clearly, he has started the last several games cold. And So much of a game is decided by how you establish your offense. It's been at least a month since I've seen Don start off well. That being said, I really feel the disappointing yet successful era we have experienced is symbolically finished now. The Eagles are now purely disappointing.
This team is finished
Not one Philadelphian
Will accept the status
quo any further
Posted by: Sundar | Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 11:30 PM
Mcnabb needs to go...andy reid is a clown..
i have backed both of them since 1999 but if today taught us anything it means that its the end of an era and its time for a change...not going for it on 4th and 1 and playing for a tie is despicable...do they realize they just cost themselves the playoffs? i refuse to spend another cent on this pathetic joke of a franchise that has the balls to tell its fans that they are the "gold standrad".. that time has gone. stop raping us with 90 dollar a seat tickets for a team that is barely good enough to be 8-8. its criminal
Posted by: john | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 12:18 AM
@Sundar
I will admit, I did smile when I heard Mr. Perfect's name...but i had vomit in my mouth when I smiled. But truth be told, that was just Marion Barber. I really can't stand that dude. He always looks like he's taking every painful shit he's ever taken out on the opposing defense to me. Mofo needs to chill.
Posted by: Andy | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 12:20 AM
I love Mart's quote about McNabb not knowing games could end in a tie...
***
Told his quarterback didn't know the rule, Mornhinweg said: "Yeah, um, yeah, but, uh, I don't know what to say on that one."
***
And that's coming from the same guy who won a coin toss in overtime and deferred.
This team is a disaster, and Reid needs to go. I'd be willing to keep McNabb around though...I'd just hate to see his time here end like this.
Posted by: David F. | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 12:23 AM
go suck on someone else's team Donovan. Never was, never will be.
Posted by: bcapp | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 01:05 AM
Don't be surprised. Donovan has always been lazy in terms of physical and mental preparation. (His nickname at Syracuse was "Mcfat") He mostly shows up to play, shrugs his shoulders regardless of the outcome, and goes home. That's why his potential for greatness will never be fulfilled.
Posted by: You bet | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 05:59 AM
Hey, Andy, thanks for the kind words.
The refs said they blew it again in Pittsburgh, so, yes, both the refs and I didn't know the rules.
It's unbelievable that McNabb forgot that Falcons tie back in '02. That was one of the most memorable games in NFL history!
Posted by: EastFallowfield | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 07:13 AM
I think what McNabb meant to say is he didn't know it was possible to tie...the BENGALS! Embarrassing.
Posted by: Walklett | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 08:06 AM
McNabb's true nature on display today. Smiling in OT after incomplete passes. Confessing he doesn't know the rules. I don't care if we don't know the rules, or even if some teammates don't know the rules--he's the QB! It's his JOB!! Maybe he should ask the coaches if he doesn't know? What a lazy, unprepared loser.
And Reid's LOST it. Fox kept talking about how many close games we lost this year. What's the difference between pre-Super Bowl and post-Super Bowl? The coaching doesn't give us a chance to win the close games.
Clean house. New coach, new QB, new regime. And no more West Coast Offense! Run the damn ball!
Posted by: PhillyPSU | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 08:23 AM
Well it's stupid that he didn't know but it's not like we were gonna score anyways
Posted by: mattindc | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 08:27 AM
gregotto - you said this team would never win with McNabb at QB after they lost a game that he didn't even play in?
I've been a huge Andy Reid supporter up until yesterday. This team is too talented to be playing the way they are. I'd love to see McNabb play one season without Andy. Fire Andy and see if we can lure Spagnoulo away from the Giants.
Has anyone introduced Andy to this guy Brian Westbrook they have playing RB? Does he realize that he has one of the best RB's in the league at his disposal?

wow, I liked McNabb. But I bet even Vick would have known that. Never admit to Philly fans that you don't know the rules.
Posted by: Jack | Monday, November 17, 2008 at 01:52 PM
haha let it go folks its an innocent mistake. wow never say that kind of stuff to philadelphia fans.
