Manny Not Optimistic, Lowe Questions Torre
Check out the gem from Manny in USA Today:
The victory, sealed with Brad Lidge's 46th consecutive save, might have doomed the Dodgers. Slugger Manny Ramirez was reminded that his Boston Red Sox rallied from a 3-1 American League Championship Series deficit in 2007, but he provided little optimism. And then there's Derek Lowe voicing his opinion of being yanked a bit early."That was Boston," Ramirez said. "That was a great team. This is different."
"I was fine," Lowe said. "That [the fifth] was the inning I was looking for, an easy, 1-2-3 inning. I went down the stairs to the men's room, but when I came back, they said that's it. That's all I can give you [the media]. I wish I had more. I was in the game."And we all know how that turned out.The Dodgers managed to go ahead in the home half of the fifth, but Torre still opted for 20-year-old Clayton Kershaw in the sixth, instead of Lowe.

Gotta love a team falling apart in the middle of the LCS.

Sounds like Manny trying the "insult the rest of the team" tactic as a means to rally the troops.
He already threw Billingsly under the bus by saying the Phils' SP is a "guy he'd want on his team b/c he goes to battle for you."
Calling out the team in the media is the last gasp of a team on the ropes. They'll come out swinging tomorrow, no doubt, I just hope they swing and miss.

Don't give Manny too much credit. He doesn't know how to motivate his troops.
Something tells me if Manny tried to take on the Phillies in a fight today, no one on the Dodgers would stand in his way. Or cover his back.
I love the off-day to help the Dodgers get wound up tighter.

this signifies the beginning of the collapse of the dodgers, and further will set off a chain of events culminating in the wrath of God smiting the city of LA via 9.0 earthquake. or at least that's my interpretation of revelations.

I wouldn't start celebrating yet, but this is a good sign.
Seth Everett said it best on the Cuz and Prof Show on WIP today:
"If Clayton Kershaw is the guy you want with the ball up 3-2 in the sixth inning, then he should have started."

Seth Everett is a total fraud and I can't believe they allow him on the midday show.
Whenever he's on it sounds like the Cuz wants to knock him out, and I'll be right there beside him.. kicking him to the curb.

I was being semi-facetious when I said he was trying to inspire the troops. Sometimes calling out your team pisses them off and makes them fight harder, but I think young guys like this might try too hard and could have the reverse effect.
Manny's trying to pass himself off as the best teammate ever right now, but should the Phils close this one out and move onto the WS, I think we might hear more from Manny on him questioning his team's ability/heart/etc.

come on jd!.. you got quite a few phils fans in this town.. don't smite us!.. we repped pretty well last night.. can't wait to be there to see the dodgers season end on wednesday..

I don't know what feels better, having the Phillies pull out a late inning win or having these so-called "expert of the game" sports announcers muzzled because of it??? The Phils are playing out in the Holloywood area so why not emmulate Rocky Balboa pulling himself off the canvas and coming back to win. All we ask as a fanbase for any of our teams is don't quit and strive to go the distance.

Manny is a short-term consultant to the Dodgers right now. He's extremely good in the batter's box, but reeks of TO in the locker room and evidently in the LA Press Room too, already. Dodgers are not NLChamps material with or without him, and without him, are nothing.

And THIS is reason # 1 why I didn't want the Phils to get Manny at the trade deadline. What a guy! Joe Buck tells me that Manny was sent from God to save us all.

Great quote Manny, you horses ass. Maybe he should go to the Mets and further divide their locker room.
