"Palin Curse" Moves to St. Louis
All politics aside, we weren't big fans of the Flyers starting the season by allowing the focus to be on an individual who was seeking election to the vice presidency. We'd been waiting months to see hockey start again, and with the presidential race dominating most of the cable outlets 24/7, we navigate to the sports channels and pages for relief. It's in the past, so there's no need to dwell on the point.
But before last night's win, fans had been jokingly blaming the Flyers winless start on "the Palin curse," which, to carry the theme, may have been lifted when the Governor from Alaska dropped the puck at St. Louis last night. Before the ceremony, Blues goalie Manny Legace stepped from the bench onto the ice surface, only where normally he'd find a slick landing place for his goalie skate, someone had a placed a carpet. Ya know, for the walk to the puck drop.
Legace would leave the game after the first period with a strained hip, which was sustained when he fell on the carpet, and the Blues lost. There are only so many more games before the election, so St. Louis better find someone to host the next campaign stop, or they could carry the curse all year.

Oh boy. Palin, you are a stone cold fox but damn can you carry a hex.

Yes! That *would* break the curse! I work with some dudes from Buffalo and we'd joked about the Palin curse, and that it would be broken by November 4th if McCain isn't elected. This would also qualify. I mean, what team scores six goals and loses? Yet it happened to the Flyers under this drasted curse. I kid about the curse too, but it's fun.

I'd fire someone for that placement of the rug.
...and if she's really a "Hockey Mom" (**Rolls Eyes**), then she shouldn't have needed a friggin carpet to walk on.
Ugh... oh well, at least the curse moved on from Philly.

How is this Palin's fault? How about the bozo who put the rug there in the first place, or didn't tell Manny which side of the bench to go out on?!?
Then again, it's hard to argue with the results. The Flyers start out slow after having the puck dropped by Palin, and now this. Not only did the Blues lose, they lost to the KINGS, a terrible team 4-0. This is what happens when politics and sports intertwine, eh?
