I think on a day like this, folks are so happy they're not going to mind their kids hearing an F-bomb. They're going to hear it eventually in their lives, why not get it first from their role models? Well done, Chase! WORLD FUCKIN' CHAMPIONS!

Boo? FUCK You!!

Posted by: Hummer | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 05:56 PM
You gotta love the reaction of Jayson, Cole, and everyone in the background. I wish Scotty Eyre was on camera as well, for obvious reasons
Posted by: Sully | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 06:05 PM
FUCKIN' 'A'!!!!!!
Posted by: Phil | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 06:13 PM
"Uh, No Father. I didn't utter the 'f-word'. You see, I spell it with a 'Ph' y'know? So, uh, no problem. Right?"
Posted by: Hopper | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 06:14 PM
Jamie Moyer did not seem to think it was as funny as everyone else

Second best speech goes to J-Roll, who rubbed it in the Mets faces with that "you can't win a championship with one man" line....
Loved every second of today.
Posted by: Carl P | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 07:20 PM
To JMc: It would have been nice to hear what Chase said after dropping the "F" Bomb, when he praised his teammates, saying everyone contributed to their being World Series Champions, so class doesn't include being gracious and generous with praise to others, it is conditional with the language used. OK, I get it.
Posted by: Budman | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 07:22 PM
It is a fitting addition to the tough guy lexicon of Philadelphia vocabulary, which already includes such luminary phrases as "Yo, Adrian!"
Now we have claimed the F-bomb for ourselves.
Chase, you rule. We've all had enough of the vapid, Disney-fied, family-friendly commentary. This is for Phillies fans all over the world:

Greatest moment in Philly history since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

I will listen to that on a constant loop for the next week.

Best moment of the celebration.....Well maybe it's tyed with the moment when Hamels alomst fell but didn't...THANK GOD!
Posted by: HLH | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Awesome. I love the reaction from his teammates (especially Hamels & Werth).
Posted by: phils phan | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 07:57 PM
even So Taguchi was laughing in the background. Im guessing he knows what that means by now...
Posted by: MPR529 | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 08:09 PM
To Budman----you should be directing your post to poster with the name David Wright not me
i asked about a T-shirt not about someone being white trash
Posted by: JMc | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 08:35 PM
I can't believe people think it's OK to drop the fbomb like that. Ugh. Bad manners, lack of class. Not funny, more like embarrassing, actually. No wonder Jamie took a dim view of it--he's the only one mature enough to get that it's an ignorant, immature thing to do.
Posted by: lanajordan | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 08:50 PM
Chase Utley-you ARE the man!
This calls for my Boo? Phuck You Shirt tomorrow.
Posted by: jms | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 08:55 PM
Curse you Chase Utley for saying what we are all thinking, . . and saying, . . . and now apparently printing on t-shirts.
It's funny, from the clip, I didn't think the crowd could have been any louder, but then the F-bomb drops.
Posted by: Pete | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 09:15 PM
Eh, I don't mind it. I've used the word. You've used the word. Most fourth-graders use it now and again.
If you get your panties in a bunch over "fuck," you're worrying about the wrong things.
Posted by: Phils Phan | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 09:18 PM
Chase ....."Say it Ain't So"!
Posted by: Susan | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 09:32 PM
SO basically, he will be known for the rest of his career as Chase "Fuckin'" Utley. That's cool.
Posted by: That Dude | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 09:48 PM
If you can't be immature two days after you win the World Series, when can you be immature?
Posted by: silence dogood | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 09:51 PM
people will say that the language is inappropriate for the children around etc but after 25 FUCKIN' years I have absolutely no probelem with it.
Half the children in this town already know how to say "Dallas Sucks" anyway.
Posted by: Sponge-Worthy | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:05 PM
To the kids watching at home: You can't say fuck but if you want to do it really bad, then go win The World Series.
Also Chase Utley can do whatever the fuck he wants.
Posted by: mattindc | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 10:46 PM
Tee shirt? I'm makin' it my ring tone!
Posted by: ruthie | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:44 PM
That is a disgusting act by Chase Utley. And it's unfortunate that we have it on our air live. That is disgusting by Chase Utley.
Posted by: Joe Buck | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:45 PM
I suspect the degree to which you're impressed with Utley's 'f' word depends on how close you are to being 14 years old.
He'll apologize - guaranteed.
Posted by: John Dough | Friday, October 31, 2008 at 11:50 PM
I thought it was spelled "Phucking".....anyone know where to get that ringtone?
Posted by: Dan | Saturday, November 01, 2008 at 12:00 AM
Let'm all say what they want.
Who cares.
It'll never be said again.
"World FUCKING champions"

He dropped the f bomb to hammer home what I don't think anyone has truly grasped, the phils actually won it! I know for me it still hasn't sunk in yet, for once we aren't walking away form a season with that bitter feeling of being disapointed. I was there and it was the highlight of the day.
Its got nothing to do with class, used purely for emphasis. jmc is a huge db and probably likes the mets, besides who are you to judge what classy is.

Top five moment in Philly sports ever!
I really hope he doesn't apologize.
I have children. We don't throw the word around regularly at home, but we also don't shield our kids from reality - including honest, genuine emotion when its appropriate.
We need to lighten the FUCK up Ruthie and JMc and whoever else simply has got a stick so far up their asses, they've forgotten how to laugh and have a real feeling.
This is EXACTLY what we need from our sports heroes for once, instead the same old sanitized, scripted bullshit.
Fuck yeah Chase! Please don't apologize. You ARE the man. GO PHILS!!!!
