Westbrook & Sheppard Report, Andrews Doesn't

Lito and BWest have reported to Lehigh but Shawn Andrews has not. According to the Eagles, the Big Kid isn't necessarily unhappy with his contract and he's not there for personal reasons. Andy may not approve anyway.

Leigh Bodden, former Browns corner who was traded to the Lions this off-season, signed a 4 year extension for $27 mil. He will still make base salaries below $2 mil each of the next two seasons, however he received $2 mil for signing and receives a roster bonus worth close to $9 mil if he is still with the team next March.

The agreement is relevant because he has a similar track record to Lito Sheppard. When healthy, he is considered one of the better corners in the NFL, but he has had problems staying on the field. Interestingly enough, Bodden's new deal does not pay him that much more over its life ('08-'13) than Lito's current contract. Bodden will get paid an average of $5.5 mil per year over the next six years, while Sheppard's current deal pays him an average of roughly $5 mil per year.

Brian Westbrook and anyone who agrees with him are flat out insane if they think he's worth $30 mil guaranteed at the age of 29. The estimated $15 mil the Eagles offered to add to his current deal is more than fair.

Finally, Shawn Andrews apparently is not missing due to contract reasons contrary to earlier reports on PFT.

Westbrook is an excellent back, but I heard he wants to be paid like L.T.
I don't understand these players that bitch about contracts. What happened to playing the game because you love it? Many people would give their left nut to get half of your paycheck.

Gargano just said on WIP that Andrews was almost traded yesterday because of whatever his personal reasons are for not reporting to camp....ok why isn't an Eagles beat reporter on top of this?????

Andrews must have some sort of major personality disorder if the Birds are willing to trade him with the contract they have him locked into.
