Quickies: NFL Changes Rule From Eagles vs. Bears Game Last Season
- Remember in the Bears game when the center snapped the ball past the quarterback and the Eagles recovered it for a TD to later have it called a false start? Well that will be a TD in 2008. [FH]
- Big Jon Runyan is not thrilled with Shawn Andrews absence. [FH]
- Is JoePa the Brett Favre of college football? [EDSBS]
- So China is cool with Internet censorship during the games in Beijing. I hope I can still get The Superficial while I'm in China. [FH]

i'm starting to believe that mr. andrews is a huge pussy.

I'm starting to think he's got some emotional issues. Remember all the drama last year with his injury, how he cried on TV about it? Then the next day he said it was a joke? Signs point toward manic depression or bipolar disorder.

Question - I don't remember the playoff picture at the end of last season, but does a win against the Bears put the Eagles into the playoffs? If so, i'll be about the most pissed a man can be 3/4 of a year after the fact.

@ Benjamin: Had the Eagles won that one game, instead of 8-8 they'd be 9-7 and tied with the Redskins at the end of the year. I dont know how they would have broken the tie, considering the Redskins and Eagles split their two games last year. However I think the Skins had a better record in the NFC than the Eagles, but who remembers, its not like the Skins got far anyway.
and being a Notre Dame fan living in PA, I dont care about JoePa. No offense, but PSU is gonna suck anyway.

I'm not going to bother looking into the specific tiebreakers that would come up under that scenario, but had the Eagles placed a punt returner on the roster, they beat the Packers Week 1. A win there combined with the rule change would make them 10-6, better than the Redskins.
As I've said many times before, last season the Eagles were only a few unlucky bounces away from the playoffs.
