Phils Open Up Three Game Set in Atlanta
The Phils roll into Atlanta this evening a few pounds lighter without Brett Myers. The fairly reliable Kyle Kendrick takes the mound for the Phils who will face another pitcher they've never seen. Charlie Morton will make the fourth start of his career and comes in with a 1-1 record and a 4.24 ERA.
Remarkably, the Phils still find themselves atop the NL East despite playing uninspired ball over the last month. After originally thinking that the Braves would be without Chipper Jones, the Phils may now have to face him in the lineup tonight.
As Charlie would say, this is no time to feel sorry for themselves. It's about time they kick themselves in the behinds.
Alternative suggested material for this post:
Title: Please God, don't let them drop their 7th straight series
Body: Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please.

That's right! No sulking! It draws attention in a negative way. The Phils need to draw attention to themselves, but on their own terms.
(Sorry, you guys and your movie references... gets me carried away.)
How's Brett taking the demotion?

Nice, Shane booked a ride for that one on TC's Island Hoppers!

See, TC's Island Hoppers... you know, from Magnum... because Magnum was set in Hawaii... And Victorino's Hawaiian...
Is this thing on?

Tom McCarthy finally did something entertaining, he got kicked out of his seat.

We hear you El ricko...just the Magnum reference is a little dated for some of us :)
I hope the Phillies are waking up. The Dragon is needed to burn through the weekend.

Hey, I like McCarthy. A lot. I'd like to listen to him a helluva lot more than Wheels....(grinds teeth)

It's 7th inning hook time for KK.

This is why I can't stand jenkins feliz or ruiz. In a time they could've put this game away for good they came up just about empty (minus the lucky bloop single by jenkins). Now atlanta scores 3 and its a game again. Feliz has 6 left on base for the game... and ruiz still hasn't learned how to hit a ball

back to back innings leaving the bases loaded....you know they are gonna be ripping them tomorrow after they blow this game on 610.

The Phils are setting a record for leaving the bases loaded. I know they are. This seems to happen 2 or 3 times a game.

Wow, Flash got through that inning in a... flash.
Glad he remembers how to do that from time to time.

Bases loaded for the third time. Uh oh.

A win? A win?
I love this feeling!

You know, I've been saying...thank god we're back playing the NL. The first two series we lost on this streak were road series against decent-to-good teams, and we finished 5-4 on that trip. That's fine. But then we got raped in 4 straight AL series. We've been destroying NL teams all season - I'm not surprised to see them back at it. Keep it up.

Ahhh...that feels much better. Things looked good tonight.
Here's hoping the downswing was just what I had thought of it all along, only the typical slump most teams face at least once a year...and ONLY once.

Thank you for inspiring this rant el ricko...
note to myers... Rule number 51 no excuses play like a champion...
rule number 16 give me an up to date family tree... by that I mean what does our rotation and bullpen look like now with swindle in the mix?
rule number 127 never walk away from a crasher in a funny jacket

Now, we won a ball game yesterday. If we win one today, that's two in a row. We win one tomorrow, that's called a winning streak. It has happened before.
