Flyers To Play Pre Season Game at Spectrum
If ever there was a reason to go watch a pre season hockey game this has to be it. The Flyers have announced they will play against the Carolina Hurricanes on September 27th at the Wachovia Spectrum. The building will be closing in the next year and joining Veterans Stadium in old building heaven.
This epic pre season game will surely crack the top 10 ten hockey moments at the hollowed grounds on Broad and Pattison.

A dream of mine would be when the Flyers make the playoffs next year, they move all the home games to the spectrum..
No doubt in my mind we would win every one of those home games with how loud that place gets. Send the spectrum off with a cup.
On a serious note, I wish they would have done at least one regular season game rather than preseason.

This is as good of a use of a Flyers preseason game as any. Usually, preseason hockey games are like going to an expensive bar with an $85 cover charge.

Really??? It had to be the same day as the PSU Illinois game???
Who thinks it would be possible to make it to the Flyers game stay for a period and make it to Happy Valley for 8?

@Bryan: That question is right in my kitchen, because I have Flyers season tix and I share PSU tickets. If you weren't kidding, I definitely think that it could be done, but it would be tight.
Assuming you leave right from the the Spectrum, the only problem I can think to consider is parking at the PSU game, since you'd probably be arriving in State College at approximately 7pm (conservative estimate, taking into account increased football traffic on 322)....
Problem is, you could get to State College in time for kickoff, but then end up sitting in traffic while waiting to park or driving around looking for a spot.
