While He Certainly Powened, Leon Is No Dr.

How bout that Leon Powe, eh? But did you hear Jeff Van Gundy ridicule Mark Jackson for likening him to the almighty Dr. J?

Yeah... I nearly choked on my powdered donut. How can you compare anyone to the doctor? And if you do, it has to be a little more legit that freakin Powe. I think it was a casual slip of the tongue... but don't talk about dr. j casually.

this is just one of many dumb things uttered by these two. also last night jackson said that paul pierce was just as if not more explosive offensively then larry bird and van gundy said that mchale was just as explosive offensively.

he really did look like dr. J. without the pizazz. Van Gundy said that Iverson wasn't the best pound for pound player in the nba. and jackson tried to explain that he was for about an hour. They are both disgraces and i wish some dumb team would have hired them to get em off the air

I kinda like Van Gundy.... He knows basketball and is functionally literate (which puts him ahead of basically all other NBA talking head). He is not afraid to call out players and coaches and doesn't just go with the flow. Yes, he is on the abrasive side, but pair him with a good play-by-play guy and you could do a lot worse.
