TSN: Flyers, Carter Agree to Terms

TSN is reporting that the Flyers and center Jeff Carter have officially agreed to terms on a 3-year deal worth $5 million. We're also hearing that the salary cap increase is in the ballpark of $6.4 million, which we hope will give the Flyers enough room for a top-4 blueliner (if not top-1). Glad to have Carter back. Now if only the team will stop calling him Cartsy. Seriously, we understand that every hockey player must have a nickname, and nine times out of ten, it's just cutting a few syllables and adding -y (the baseball equivalent being First Initial–First syllable of last name), but can we please get more creative? How about Cartman or something?

and Brooks Orpik thinks he deserves 4 mil a year from the Penguins, when Carter who is a much better player than Orpik is getting 5, glad to see he is going to fuck over the Penguins

didnt stevens call him Carts

Matt: The lameass hockey player nickname pattern has never been better described. Cartsy? Really? That's the best we can do?

I mean, where did they get "Rico" for Eric Desjardins? Bundy for Chris Therien?

@Paul: People forget, but Orpik was a healthy scratch during parts of the season and Therrien actually played him at forward when they were shorthanded. I hope it's a team in the Eastern conference that overpays for that assclown.

@johndwear: Therrien earned "Bundy" because the way he sat on the sofa in the locker room reminded a player, forget who, of the great Al Bundy.
