Phillies-Cards Day Game: Better Than Yard Work.
It's pretty hot in the Illadelph, too hot for pushing a mower or whatever you're supposed to do on non-rainy weekend days. Plus we drank too much last night. So we're treating today like a good ol' fashioned rainy day, and couching it up for the second game of the Phils-Cards series. After last night's 20-2 shellacking, can you blame us?
Today it's Adam Eaton, the one who surprises us now and again, and Kyle Lohse, the one we let get away. Lohse is 7-2 with a sub-4.00 ERA, liking his new digs in StL. Let's see if the Phils can hang a few more crooked numbers today and ruin it for him.

Regardless of how Eaton has performed of recent, I am sick of his (and Myers') tendency to put the Phils down in the first inning. For God's sake, get three damn outs.

Mark Grace is horrrrible(4 R's!!). I'd rather hear Tim McCarver and Chris Wheeler interview a house plant.

Not to be confused with "The Charlie Manuel [radio] Show".

Yes, I enjoyed last night's game.
But, again we have another example of inconsistency. 20 runs (or 7 or 9 or 5), followed by 2 (or 1 or 0). Lohse isn't that overpowering. It's as if these guys went out last night, got wasted (Pat plays well with a buzz), and can't function the day after.

And, if I may add, Adam Eaton had half of the Phillies hits. While I applaud his plate discipline, I ask the others: WTF does Eaton know that you do not? It can't be much.

Obviously I was watching the broadcast on Fox, but what are the chances Harry said something like, "Shame you can't use some of those runs from last night" during the radio broadcast?
I hate when they say that.

Brett Myers sucks. Demote him until he learns how to pitch again. Any schmuck can give up 5 through 4.
