Howard Heads Home to Face Cards
We're not sure who the Phils are facing tonight. ESPN says former Phillie Kyle Lohse is taking the mound while MLB.com says it's Todd Wellemeyer. We think it will be Lohse who has looked sharp as of late and won his last four outings.
The Phils run out Kyle Kendrick tonight as Ryan Howard returns to his old stomping grounds of St. Louis. Maybe some home cooking can get Howard back on track. The Cards are without former MVP Albert Pujols. So that's good for us. Later 8:15 start time. [Preview]

Nice way to get the series started!

I'm happy to see these upstarts get knocked down a few pegs. Let's see them burn their bullpen to a crisp tonight.

It's nice to not have to worry about the result once in a while. Also nice to do it to Tony LaRussa. I never much liked that guy.

Did anyone else notice that the scorecard at the top changed its design between the 4th and 5th innings? Maybe I'm seeing things.

Noticed the same thing Joe, looks like it back to normal in the 6th.

Anyone see that two-digit number by PHI, looks like a 1 and a 7? Maybe i'm just seeing things.

Yea, one time I saw a 2 and a 0 against Colorado and kept trying to convince myself that the score was 2-0. I think all that hot summer swamp gas brewing below Philly is getting to my head.

Well, MSM, if you're still watching the game, you're getting your wish. LaRussa got tossed after Springer threw at Howard right in the jimmy. Watching him argue against Tim McClelland is like watching two lawyers piss fight.

Another 20 spot, that has to be some type of phillies record

I'll stop bitching about the offense now.

Cardinals are down to about two coaches on their bench. This has been a hoot to watch. I only wish I had some Vitamin Y with me...

I think if the Cardinals threw Miles in there, we should have put Bruntlett in to close.

Yes, that is another 20 spot...the record for 20 runs games in a year is 3 by the 1900 Phils.
...and Aaron Miles is pitching, and we couldnt get a hit off of him when we somked the rest of the professional pitchers they have??

I think taking full-out hacks at any Miles offering would have resulted in another welt on someone's thigh, either tonight or tomorrow.
