Eagles Tickets Onsale Today: Victory!
As many of you surely know, tickets for this year's Eagles games went on sale at 10:00 a.m. this morning. I was lucky enough to score a pair to the Eagles season opener against the Rams albeit in the last row up top.
How'd you all do? Any luck?

see you there.

I called Fargo and Topeka and had two computers going before ten and I got nothing but a headache listening to Tina Turner on hold. Stub Hub all the way

2 for Falcons.
I went for the crappiest team possible to increase my odds...here's to hoping Matt Ryan is at QB by then so I get to watch a mauling!

how the fuck did you get through to get tickets. i just called every ticketmast on the east coast and was online with 5 different pages open. ticketmaster is the biggest scam ever. i bet there's a shitload of tickets on stub hub and every other ticket agency right now. fuck ticketmaster!

I failed miserably but my girlfriend nabbed four tix to the Falcons game. Whee!
Also, Ticketmaster refused to give me tickets because I had two browser windows open.

Fuck....looks like I'm paying at 2x face value @ stubhub again this year....
Do they announce the ticket sale date beforehand? I've always been at least a few minutes late to the game
Posted by: matt | Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 10:42 AM
2 for Falcons and 2 for Cards (which my mother is going to be pissed about b/c it's Thanksgiving...looks like I'll be eating turkey in the parking lot)

Son of a....I forgot.
Hello, StubHub.

Tried my darnedest, but no love.
Here's to paying a 70 percent premium on Stubhub!

Damn it I didn't even remember to look what time they went on sale. I saw something on NBC10 last night about them being sold today, but I thought I bought them at 12:00 last year so when I got to work at 10:30 this morning, clearly they were sold out despite my feeble attempts. I don't think I'll be looking on stubhub either. I can't bring myself to pay 3x the price of a ticket.
It really pisses me off sometimes that our fan base is so passionate. There are still season tickets available for some teams in the NFL. And I bet that single game tickets are still available on gameday for some teams as well. In my 21 years on Earth, I still have yet to attend a regular season Eagles game.

Wrong phrase. It doesn't piss me off that we're so passionate. I'm just bitter because Ticketmaster laughs in my face year after year.

I tried for the Giants game and got shut out. I miss camping out for tickets, it was more fun and more fair.

Greggy, football is better on TV anyway. You're better off than these people gloating about their Rams tickets.
That said, I secured a bus trip to the Giants game back in April. It will be my first game since the opener against the Bucs. Pretty special until the game started.

The girlfriend is staying home.....I got a single for the stillers game.

My opinion: Eagles tickets = overpriced and overrated.
Not only do they not treat their season ticket holders all that well (in comparison to the other Philly teams), but I feel that it's a sport that unless you have a GREAT seat, you are better off watching at home. It just translates to the TV better than any other sport. Although I'm a bit of an X's and O's guy so I like to focus on the lineman/linebacker play and watch replays. Things that are VERY difficult to do sitting way up high at the stadium.
Now hockey, that's a sport that is definitely better watched in person.
Just my unsolicited 2 cents...

Wow, our resident Eagles expert giving out verbal beat-downs for people being happy to get tickets to the first game of the season. Shame on you, Kulp Kulperson.

Guess the Linc should have been built to hold more than 69k fans.
Posted by: Bryan | Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 11:58 AM
LOL, just trying to raise some spirits. Opening Day tickets are always sweet.
Even if it is against the Rams...
Posted by: Kulp | Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 12:14 PM
I think if the Linc could hold 150,000 it would still sell out in 12 minutes rather than 10. I might have a chance if that were the case.

I've got free tickets to every single Eagles game...
on my family room couch, that is.

In an unrelated story:
The NFL Network just reported that "Cowboys CB Pacman Jones will publicly request that he just be known as Adam Jones."
I'm thinking this will go over just as well as William Thomas went over for Tra. Changing you name doesn't change the image you've given yourself over the course of your career. Sorry, Pacman, we still know what you did and that you're a bum.

I've only been to two Eagles games both at the Vet in the 700 level. I'm not a fan of watching football or basketball live.

Love going to watch live football (I share PSU season tickets with some friends I went there with), but I do agree with what Tartan said about Eagles tickets. Especially with respect to the whole seat license concept. I know other teams did it too, but that doesn't make me feel better about it.

I got in first try at Ticketmaster. 4 to the Falcons on Thanksgiving night. One of my brothers got 3 to the Browns Monday night game. My other brother had Falcons tickets, but gave them up b/c they were in the corner and we already had tickets, and he didn't think to buy and sell them. Plus, he's moving back to Philly next week, so he's saving up.
Apart from that, I live in DC, so I'm gonna try to get to FedEx Field when they come down, and a bunch of us are going to Chicago for that Sunday night game.
I guess I'm pretty satisfied.

I got a single seat for the Rams, Redskins, and Giants ...
and they all turned out to be GREAT seats.
Also - you people are crazy to think that watching football at home in your living room is better than being at the game. Sure, you might be able to catch some more details, and have access to different angle replays - but nothing compares to being inside that stadium, watching it live in front of you.

Keep an eye on Craiglist too guys, you can actually score some decent seats for manageable prices if you fish around.

Got single tickets for the Sunday night Giants game and Monday night Browns game. Should be fun/lonely.

Im one of the lucky ones. My dad and his brother have had season tickets since the 70s. They dont go anymore so me and my brother get to go to practically every game.
And I have to disagree with anyone who said watching on tv is better. Theres nothing like watching an eagles game with 69,000 other fans.
