The Phillies Real Ace: Cole Hamels
We mentioned Cole's tremendous outing against the Braves, but we thought it deserved its own post. Seriously, when Brett Myers' craptastic performance starts causing your confidence to waver, Cole comes out and shows what a real ace can do. The two guys really have nothing to do with one another other than they both had high expectations coming in to this season, but I think it's blatantly clear who is the real ace of this team.
It was also nice to see Ryan Howard continue on his path to leaving that wretched slump in the past. There's nothing better than watching The Big Guy really connect with one.
>>Hamels pitches shutout, Phils top Braves 5-0 [AP]

the charlie press conference at the end was terribly boring, almost gave andy reid a run for his money.

It was nice to see Ryan Howard acquit himself lately. Meanwhile, the fictional Ryan Howard is begging for an acquittal of his own.
/Whoaa!!! Check this out.

There's a joke to be made here about how I'm glad to see that I didn't work Cole over too badly Wednesday night, but I'm far too ladylike to make such a salacious comment.
