That's What I'm Talkin' Bout, Howard Takes Two Deep
Last night I went down to watch the Fightins in person and they struggle to get a single run across. I turned away from the game tonight with the Phils up a couple runs early and when I came back they had a 12 spot on the scoreboard. Maybe they just don't want me to watch.
Due to missing all the action I can't really add a whole lot. Feel free to talk about some highlights and observations in the comments. Here's some video:

It was nice to see the homeruns but he still flailed helplessly at a couple of those outside sliders, and burrell's cold streak continued
We need to pick it up

I don't know whats scarier: that he's trying to pull balls outside instead of going oppo with them or that he can pull them that far when he does

moyer is amazing, i dont care that it was the nationals, the guy is incredible when you think about most of the trash that pitches in the league.
hopefully we win some 10 - 8 games against houston, should be fun.

I thought the double was a very good sign. He took a low and outside pitch and went with it the other way. That's a hit he would not have gotten a couple weeks ago.

Went to the game last night, so many Phils fans (are they people who are traveling down to DC, or do they live here? I swear I don't run into as many Eagles fans here). Not living in Philly, I really only get to watch the games on TV or listen on XM, and to watch Howard crush one in person...wow. I mean, he just crushes the ball sometimes.
Did see a Phils fan get into a fight with a freaking Nats food vendor, because the guy accidentally gave him a raw hotdog. It was one of the funnier sporting brawls I've ever seen.

Nobody "accidentally" gives someone a raw hot dog. Not at a freakin' ballpark anyhow.

I was at Sunday's game and just the sound of Ryan's blast assured me the worst of the slump is over. dude is about to start killing it!

There was a verrrry strong Philadelphia contingent last night, and Howard does seem to have picked things up -- his first homer last night went stunningly far, and his second took about two-tenths of a second to clear the wall. With all of that said, the Nationals really have no business being a major league team.

As Gary Matthews said Ryan "hopped in the Cadillac" after that first HR. Nice jack, but keep it in the driveway until you're hitting over .200

I tried going to Tuesday night's game, but after waiting in line for an hour-plus while the ticketing systems kept crashing, getting to the ticket window in the bottom of the 4th and finding only $18 tickets were the cheapest, decided to bail on the game. Went back last night and saw a much better offensive performance from the Phils.
The stadium was nice (way better than RFK), but with all the flashing lights and scoreboards, they barely had any in-game statistics. I kept wondering what people did in previous ABs, but couldn't find anything. Only pitch count, season batting statistics, and batter biographical information. That was aggravating.. is it that difficult to put a '1-2, 2B' below Felipe Lopez's name when he's at bat?
