Quotable: Marty Biron on the Upcoming Flyers-Pens Series
Via Tim Panaccio, we have this great quote from Flyers goalie Martin Biron on the battle that is about to go down:
"You look at Washington, you look at Montreal, it took a game and a half to get the emotions involved into the games," Biron said. "I think against Pittsburgh, it will be a half minute and things will get going. They might not want to say that. They might not feel the same way, but that's how things will go."
I can't believe they're making us wait until Friday for that half minute.

I couldn't agree more that it is quite irksome that we have to wait till Friday for series to start. The thing that really bothers me is that everywhere I look on the internet, Pittsburgh fans are trashing the Flyers and I have to wait 3 more days until there is a possibility they shut the fuck up.

I cannot wait until Friday. After beating Washington and Montreal this team has something special about them. Let the haters talk from Pittsburgh, this Flyers team lets their game talk and that is why I love them so much. 3 daysssss.

I can understand why everyone's picking everyone else besides the Flyers--I mean, they are the #6 seed. However, what I cannot fathom, or support, is the idea that the other teams are "losing" games rather than the Flyers winning them. While you may not fear or think the Flyers have what it takes to win the Cup, you should respect how they got here. I had the fortune of being able to meet Mike Eruzione over the weekend. He said a fatal flaw in some teams is not respecting your opponent. I hope the Pens make that mistake.

Think about it like this: the Flyers are playing with house money. Who thought they were going to be here last year, or even this year? No one. Teams with nothing to lose and everything to gain are very, very dangerous, as we've seen.
So almost no one picks us to get out of this series. Who picked us to get out of the Caps series? Or past the almighty first-seeded Montreal Canadiens? Very, very few people.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is all gravy. They have all the pressure on them and our guys have none. Teams like that.. well, Eruzione knows a little something about teams like that.
Can't wait for the puck to drop.

@zach and doubleh
couldnt agree more with the two of you. Bravo!
Who would have thought RJ Umberger would have 8 goals this post season. Dont respect the RJ's of this world and they will come back to hurt you.
Ror this series, the flyers really need to stay agressive with the superstars, stay out of the box and get in Marc-Andrey Fluery's face. All three they have done with Washington and Montreal, so just keep it going.
Go Flyers!

Marty rules. In his interviews after Saturdays game, I swear he looked like the devil. His crazy hair and those crazy eyes. I love it!
