Phils Fall Short on Rain Soaked Sunday
Between rain delays during yesterday's game you could have watched the entire Flyers game, taken a nap, cooked dinner, and driven to Atlantic City and back losing 3 weeks pay in the process. Stupid rain wouldn't go away.
Things started off nicely with Kyle Kendrick cruising through the first and Ryan Howard going deep to put the Phils up early. But then the sky opened up and play was put on hold.
When they finally came back out Kendrick took a seat and made way for long reliever Chad Durbin who gave up the lead but kept the Phils in a tight game.
Rudy Seanez was overwhelmed by the Jays in the sixth and the Phils never recovered. Pat Burrell added a BOMB to the scoreboard porch in left in the 9th to give the few drenched fans remaining at the ball park a glimmer of hope. But Eric Bruntlett couldn't pull a miracle off and the Phils head to D.C. losers of two straight. Highlights from the marathon day below.
Also of note: Shane Victorino doesn't seem too happy about being benched. My suggestion: show it on the field.

Big effort from Myers? That seems like a long shot as of late.

Give Hamels a Myers jersey and run him out there.

Myers is really starting to get under my skin. He always had to rely on great stuff to get his short tempered, out of shape rear end in the big leauges, and when his stuff isn't there, he blows all apart. Not a big effort Brett, just a little is all we would like to see.
