Kimmo Talks About His Injury

Perhaps a slight glimmer of hope on a gloomy day. From a Q&A Kimmo Timonen did with Eklund of HockeyBuzz.com:

Q: What is the best-case scenario?
Timonen: “That hopefully it is better next week. I honestly asked the doctor do you have any hope playing this series and he said only if it really goes well the next week and a half to two weeks.”

No matter what the Timonen situation is, it's not a time for hanging our heads. We're about to see the start of a great Eastern Conference Finals, the Keystone Cup, and losing any single player does not ruin the chances of the Flyers upsetting the Penguins.

MODRY! MODRY! MODRY! MODRY!

Let's be honest and put this pretend optimism away - this injury could cost us the series. however, that doesn't mean it still won't be an all-out war with the pens.

at least we've got that going for us.

Can we use two goalies?

I wouldn't call this "pretend optimism," if there is such a thing. There are a lot of things that "could cost us the series" but it's up to the team to decide whether it will deflate their hopes or make them work even harder to contest the naysayers. I'm very optimistic. This wasn't a nice thing to wake up to this morning, but maybe John Stevens has some tricks we haven't thought of, and maybe Hatcher has been saving his speed for this series. We had 2 hard-fought series and we'll have 2 more.

To say any one singular player won't cost them the series is true, but the loss of this particular player, you know, the best defenseman on the team and the guy who did a great job against Alexander Ovechkin in the first round, significantly decreases the Flyers' chances. Not saying they can't win, but other Biron getting hurt, Timonen was the one guy the Flyers didn't want to get hurt.
I fucking hate the Penguins.
And why do the gods hate Philadelphia so much?

I vote we drag this series out to Game 7 just to physically pound them into oblivion.

Or Bolivian, if you're Mike Tyson.

Whichever.

Ummmm can we play game 1 before all the Negative Nancy's show up. Its a loss and it hurts but common people, have some fucking faith. ive been through the same shit losses year after year as you but lets pull our heads out of our asses.
