Eagles Discuss Their Tri-Cornered Camp

With Eagles camp opening this weekend, all eyes are on the cornerback situation. Most feel that Lito Sheppard's days in Midnight Green are numbered, but with no trades in the works, Lito is still an Eagle. He has manned up, and arrived at camp on schedule with a respectable demeanor. But how long will the "harmony" last?

"The two-time Pro-Bowler, REGULATED to a backup role..."

RELEGATED, you dope. Where is CSN getting these idiots from?

Asante Samuel = Regulator

I still wouldn't mind if they put Lito or Sheldon in as the nickel. I'm sure that they wouldn't appreciate it, but it's going to give them the best secondary in football by far. The cliche is defense wins championships, and it'd be real hard to throw the ball on that troop of d-backs.

Sheldon Brown:

"To be honest with you, I love it. Because I get to move into the slot. I get to rush the quarterback (from the slot). I get to do all that stuff. I hate it outside. It's boring out there."

Regulaaatttttooorrss! MOUNT UP!
But seriously, I still think AR and JJ should have a sit down conversation with all three, despite what Sheldon says.

Just having Sheldon say that makes me smile. He doesn't mind that he might get moved to the slot, and if Lito is going to complain about being moved from LCB to RCB, he needs to sit down and think about what he's saying. He has the potential to be one of the top CB's in the league, because teams will probably be more willing to throw to his side than Samuel's which will only result in more tackles, interceptions, defenses passes, etc. If he wants to make the big dollars next offseason when he re-signs with another team after the Eagles most likely trade him, he'd be smart to keep his mouth shut and move over to the RCB spot.

What about moving Brown to SS and rotate him with Considine or Mikell. That way they play almost 100%, and the way Sheppard has been getting injured, Sheldon would go back to RCB.

They re-signed Mikell to a pretty big contract and I think they are comfortable with him at SS. I know that I am very happy with the way he played last year, and I think he will be great at the position. With Lito most likely gone next year, if the Eagles do want to move Sheldon to SS, they can let him learn the position over the course of this year and next offseason. Plus, if Dawk doesn't come back, they might move Mikell to FS since he can play both and then Brown might be needed more at SS.

This will become a non-story once Lito gets hurt in Week 2.

I went to the Phils game and parked across from the Nova Care complex and was watching practice through the fence on Sunday. I couldn't see too much because of the bushes, but I did see McNabb throw a deep TD pass. I couldn't tell who it was, but I think it was Reggie Brown.
