Charlie Manuel Feels Your Pain

If you groaned when you saw Adam Eaton revert to his 2007 form last night, you weren't alone. Charlie Manuel's reaction when Eaton walked Randy Johnson (on four pitches) with the bases loaded was a good sign his night would soon be over.

Phils lose 6-4, despite outhitting the D-Backs. All 6 runs were charged to Eaton. Hopefully he'll go back to the impressive mediocrity he's displayed in previous '08 starts soon. Jayson Werth cranked his 6th homer, although there was no footage of his hot mom. Shane Vic continued to play well at the top of the lineup, and Eric Bruntlett had a great night at the plate (2-5, 3 RBI) and in the field.

Gavin Floyd! I knew we were getting hosed on that Freddy Garcia deal.

Pics of Werth's mom??

Can you believe that little bitch, Scott Olsen almost had a no hitter last night? I bet he went on a hell of a bender after the game.

Anyone see Coste's reactiion to the walk? He politely excuses himself from Randy Johnson who was getting ready to make the walk to first and then scathingly admonishes Eaton as if to say, "I told you, Adam...don't fuck around here. Don't do it. Now look at ya..."

You beat me to the punch Rob, I was just about to comment on Gavin Floyd's 3-1, 2.50 start. Lets hope he doesnt hold up.

You know, I just checked Adam Eaton's page over at BaseballReference.com, and I was quite surprised to learn that his middle name is not actually "Fucking."

$24 million, well spent. You should've retired two years ago, Mr. Gillick.

There is no excuse in walking that freakishly tall man. Im just glad Wheeler wasn't doing tv at the time, because he would never shut up about walking the pitcher.

perhaps it's time to put eaton in AAA and bring up benson? i couldn't be madder at any other athlete. how do you walk the PITCHER? four pitches?! what an idiot. put it over the plate and get the double play.

@ bigmyc04:

I can almost hear it. "What did I just tell you? This ball. Your sphincter. It's going to hurt me more than it will hurt you."

Look, if Floyd is here, he's still just some scared kid who can't get it together. He'd crumble in this town like he did before. As Chicago's B-team, there's no pressure on him. A change of scenery is what he needed, just like it's exactly what Brad Lidge needed.

Besides, we won't miss him nearly as much as we will miss Gio Gonzalez. Mark that down and store it away.

the worst part of that video is the guy after johnson swings at the first pitch in the dirt! was he not watching the game?

Im wouldve loved to see Coste throw his arms into the air like " I fucking quit!" after Eaton walked Johnson. I wouldve been completely ok with showing up your teamate in that situation. I mean all eaton got was a shake of the finger from coste. I hope it was the middle one.

Random Fact:

In 612 career plate appearences, Johnson has walked 15 times, with Eaton being the $7 mill. star who walked him the 15th time.
