Bottom of the 10th, Down 1, Man On, 2 Outs, Full Count, Pat Burrell Takes Em Deep
WOOOO!@O#!@#!@#!!@# YES! More thoughts shortly. UPDATED:
Things were looking bleak for the Phillies as they were down to their last out in the bottom of the 10th. After Chase Utley got on and Ryan Howard got ejected for arguing balls and strikes. The Machine came to the plate as our last hope.
The Giants reliever Brian Wilson was bringing the fastballs that Billy Wagner know's Burrell loves to blast deep into the South Philly Night. Burrell took him to a full count and then hit a no doubter into the seats and all was right in the world.
Here's to hoping Pat is living it up right now in Olde City. The Bat deserves to celebrate that one.
Aaron Rowand was welcomed back to CBP with a gracious ovation in the second when he came to bat. Then later in the game he was booed to hell when he hit a go-ahead home run in the top of the 10th.
We're happy Rowand got his moment and also happy that in only lasted for about 15 minutes.
Heck of an ending. Wow. That's why you watch.
Video of Rowand's initial ovation:

Wow.

That did not suck.
For the first time since 1993, I have reached the point where being down 1 in extra innings is not totally hopeless anymore.

did you see the look of sheer determination on burrell's face when he came out of the mob at home plate? the machine is locked in, i was just waiting for him to smash something (other than that homerun) in celebration.

Wow. 16 hits, and only 5 runs. The Phillies pulled a Flyers tonight, with Burrell acting the part of Briere.
I love Philly. Barely done calming down from a great Phillies game, and already hardening my heart for tomorrows Flyers game. Going to be interesting.

Loved the scoreless innings stat they threw up before Romero came in. Called a jinx there hoping I was wrong.
That was great. Pat has been amazing so far, maybe he should only have one year contracts from now on. Not to be a downer, but, it is a little weird. That said, Go Phils!
More importantly, GO FLYERS!!!!!!!!!!

p.s- need a hockey post soon, please. Guy just named Price the goalie for game 5.
Oh, and why the hell hasn't Stevens even been mentioned in the coach of the year conversation? Even just to take a bunch of stangers this far after last year is pretty amazing, but no article even mentions him....strange.

Can we get the Machine to his first All-star game?

What are the odds they are able to hold onto him (Pat) after this year? Anyone know?

After watching that video about 14 times I finally noticed Harry says "9th inning home run" during the call of it.
/going to bed now.

To Mike L: Stevens didn't get mentioned because they won a lot of games despite his coaching moves. Let's face it, the Flyers team is pretty stacked offensively and they should have been winning all of these game. Now, if Paul Holmgren is not named GM of the year in some form, than that is a joke.
As far as cheering Rowand, I understand that Phillies fans love him for that one play, but is surely much nicer to have a center fielder that can score from second on a base hit and a center fielder who is under the balls at the warning track.
60 million reasons to watch his team lose 500 games over the next 5 years.

Enrico I actually noticed that live and it confused the hell out of me... then I realized Harry Kalas is never wrong and the game obviously ended in the 9th

I love harry the k but geez man, that was a classic call until he flubbed the inning number.

Yea i love Harry but man hes getting more and more stuff wrong these days. He's screwing up guys names like its his job too. O and i do believe Chase Utley homered again this morning in his sleep.

Justin i think you were adressing just Mike cause hes the one who said something about Stevens not me. But good point. Too many people named Mike anyway.

My guess is the Machine goes to the AL after this year. Someone will overpay him to be their DH, and it's hard to argue with 30 and 100 every year. It's sad because I want him to stay, and he says he wants to stay, but I don't think there's a prayer of it.

Is there any way to download these RedLasso videos? I know how to download from Youtube, Google, etc. but this RedLasso seems to work on some different format.

Harry may be messing up some calls, but I'd take his errors over any other play-by-play man in any sport. He often avoids being a homer, but when things like (Burrell's HR) happen, his excitement is as high as anyone's in that stadium. Like Penn State's Paterno, Harry earned the right to determine when he's called his last home run.

Phils Phan, you are correct sir. Harry is still the freakin man.
