?uestlove Is A 'Nova Fan, McNabb Backer
The Sporting Blog caught up with The Roots drummer ?uestlove down in San Antonio this week before the big final four action. He says he's a Villanova backer but when push comes to shove in the final four, he likes the Tarheels. Then they go into some other Philly sports talk and ?uestlove shows his faith in Donovan.
TSB: OK, so what about other Philly sports, like the Sixers?
?uestlove: This miracle comeback they’re going with ... I don’t even want to put my emotions into it. You’ve got to understand that in Philadelphia ... that’s just basically always been the Cinderella team that never got to go to the ball and we have not had a championship in 25 years or so, and I’m very, extremely ... I’m hopeful. I think we’ll get that playoff spot, but I’m not gettin’ my hopes up for nothin’.
TSB: What about Donovan McNabb and his offseason talk? Where do you fall on the quarterback situation with your Eagles?
?uestlove: You know, I know Don, so he’s not sweating it. Philly is so desperate for a championship that they would sell their own mother if it meant getting a ring. And often times they show discouragement simply because the perception was that when Donovan was injured and the injured reserve cats were putting up big numbers they were like “It’s time for him to retire!” But they’ve been saying that about Brett Favre, after playing 16-plus years. It ain’t over till he says it’s over. So I have faith in him.

Love ?uest and his music... a good representative of Philly in the music scene, actually makes real music.
