Report: Jacksonville Wants Lito Sheppard
The Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly talking to the Eagles and Lito Sheppard's agent about a potential deal for the corner who could help the Jags become more "Peyton Manning-proof." The Eagles would reportedly get "a package of '09 draft picks" in return. [Daily News]

At this point...I say keep him. Trading him won't help the team this year and the Eagles will just trade all their first round picks next year so we can have 6 second round picks...or something.

I agree that they should just keep him. Our corners are so deep right now and it's only an asset. Lito for another year will be good for the defense. If he wants out next year, then find a trade partner.

The only problem with keeping him is that Lito is not going to be a happy guy. Not happy at all.

The problem is they couldn't trade Lito on draft day, so they didn't bother to pick up any immediate help. I suppose Quintin Demps can play corner, but I really don't like being left with a rookie or Hanson in the event of an injury. Another issue I have is the Jags are likely to be very good again, so a second round pick will be closer to 60 than it is 40.
But that's exactly the problem. There just isn't a premium on veteran players with durability issues. For that same reason, the Giants were unable to move Shockey. I'm sure Lito would be unhappy, but if he was able to play a full 16 for the Eagles this year, it would actually be beneficial in contract negotiations.

Great. More draft picks to trade out of next year.

unless having a ton of picks in 2009 is a masterplan to get Chad or Anquan.. trading Lito for say a 2nd and 5th in 2009 does nothing for us right now.
Washington, NY and Dallas are gonna spread us out and force Nick Graham to cover someone

Ya well the Eagles are interested in trading for a top wr, doesnt mean both parties think its a good deal. Keep em.

This is all part of Andy's master plan to tank this year, run McNabb out of town, and rebuild next year. A Pro Bowl year and a playoff run by McNabb is absolutely the last thing this team wants this year. They trade Lito for a 1 or a 2 and they PRAY that the Panthers stink next year too.

Eagles add Penn State WR Terrell Golden.

The Eagles added a couple receivers today. We'll see if any of them have what it takes. I liked Golden at PSU and will keep an eye on him through camps.

Demps won't play CB right away, hopefully not ever, so it's Hanson and Nick Graham backing up. The best option is Lito if the Eagles can get him on the field, but that's a big if. The other good news is that Asante and Shelden Brown are durable.

With the number of different looks Johnson gives other teams, why not keep Lito? I'd rather have him out there than any of our reserves, and he'll still play alot anyway. I know he won't be happy, but it's not like were dealing with T.O. here... I mean what's the worst he'll do, sit out camp? So what?
