Phils @ Mets Game Thread: Rollins Out
To do tonight: watch the Phillies beat the Mets while firing up the grill for the first time all spring.
It's Kyle Kendrick against Mike Pelfrey in a battle of young arms. The big news out of the clubhouse is that Jimmy Rollins will not be in the line up. Instead, Eric Bruntlett will get his first start as a Phillie and look for Shane to move to the leadoff spot.
Follow along in the comments.

Ouch... How's the lineup looking now? Shane-Chase-Howard-Burrell? Or do you play Werth and have him hit 2?

Why the hell is espn2 blacked out?! i cant see the damn game!!
Posted by: Mike L. | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:22 PM
My ESPN 2 is getting blocked out for ESPNews and I can't find the game anywhere else, anyone else have the same problem?
Posted by: T | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:22 PM
Chase has to get his shit together in the field...
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:23 PM
I have it on CN8... And I can hear the Mets fans being prompted to chant loud and clear. Do they not get pissed at all the incessant noise being pumped in?
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:30 PM
Burrell gets the first hit for the Phils.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:36 PM
Mets commit an error and the bags are loaded with one out.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:39 PM
Looks like im outta luck. I have verizon and they dont have cn8 so i guess i wont be watchin this one. Why blackout an entire region of people, if someone would be kind enough to explain it would be great.
Posted by: Mike L. | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:41 PM
Verizon is the incorporated embodiment of evil.
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:43 PM
Matt, they don't get pissed about the noise because they have no other way of knowing when to cheer.
Posted by: ricky | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:46 PM
Agreed considering alot of the games are on cn8. Not to mention my fios was supposed to be lightning quick. pfffffftttt yea thanks for nothing verizon. HD is sparkling though.

And we get to see Erin Andrews. This night just better! Idk why some people are blacked out, I'm in Iowa and getting the game. Odd how that works out.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:47 PM
Erin Andrews, its been a long time since ive seen her. Damn you Verizon!
Posted by: Mike L. | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:52 PM
Jesus, Kendrick is awful tonight. Six walks and he's not out of the second inning.
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:57 PM
SIX WALKS in two innings?! Did I hear that right?!
Posted by: Clare | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:58 PM
Get out of my brain, Pesotski.
Posted by: Clare | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 07:59 PM
Kendrick no hitter through 2 baby!
Posted by: Mike W | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:00 PM
29 pitches by Kendrick, and they were all over the place. Got out of a bases loaded, 2 out jam though. Christ he looks shakey.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:00 PM
Oof. That was ugly. You never see Chutley take a pitch like that.
Posted by: Clare | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:05 PM
There goes the no hitter...
Sixers up 6 at half.
Posted by: Mike W | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:13 PM
Kendrick gives up two hits, 1st and 3rd no outs.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:14 PM
I think its about time to pull Kendrick out.
Posted by: Lauren | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:16 PM
RyHo for Gold Glove '08.
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:16 PM
FUCK!
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:22 PM
what the hell is going on
lets step up the defense fellas, how about fielding the ball cleanly for once
Posted by: ricky | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:22 PM
Make the phone call Charlie
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:24 PM
wow, I definitely missed a few innings thinking ESPN News was just going to magically end and bring on the Phils. CN8 needs an HD channel. There's nothing better than sports in HD.
Posted by: TK | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:25 PM
How the hell can players tolerate playing at Shea? There is so much bullshit crowd noise being piped in it's distracting me, and I'm sitting and watching it at home.
I hope Durbin 2.0 fares better.
Posted by: Clare | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:26 PM
Bruntlett is playing like shit. Time for a shave.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:28 PM
Bruntlett is not doing good.
and our defense is crap. =[
Posted by: Lauren | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:29 PM
If you don't have Comcast and you are in the Philadelphia area, you are completely blacked out. ESPN2 isn't allowed to simulcast to the area when the game is on CN8. I don't even have an AM radio for this.
Btw, maybe we should have sent Kendrick to the Yomiuri Giants.
Posted by: Joe | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:29 PM
this is disgusting.
Posted by: pat | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:30 PM
Bruntlett for Rollins @ NY is a lot like
Justice for Thomas @ NY
Posted by: TK | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:31 PM
Be grateful if you are blacked out. This is horrific.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:31 PM
I take back everything i said about verizon. Thank god i cant see this game.
Posted by: Mike L. | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:32 PM
Get Kendrick out now, walking seven in two and a third? Hitters have figured him out, last year was a fluke. By the way, who the hell is Bruntlett? Jimmy would be better in a wheel chair than this fraud.
Posted by: Steve | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:32 PM
I'm going to have faith that the bats will dig us out of this.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:34 PM
These guys are lost without their fearless leader at short.

Barfness.

What channel is this on? My On Demand Guide says its on ESPN2 but it clearly isnt.
Posted by: Jeff | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:46 PM
Jeff - Is on CN8...the Comcast Network
Posted by: TheCoz | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:48 PM
Well that would be a problem since I have Verizon. Thanks for the info anyway.
Posted by: Jeff | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:50 PM
Sixers up by 8
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Yea, so the rest of the US sees it in HD. Not us though.

Eat a dick, Wags.
Posted by: Clare | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 08:58 PM
thanks for that shot of the Eskimo contingent at Shea.
Posted by: Matt P | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 09:04 PM
Was it really necessary to show the clip of Buckner? After the man gets done saying how he forgives the media, ESPN continues to remind us of how he screwed up. ESPN is unbe-fuck-lievable.
Posted by: Mark | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 09:04 PM
Just got back. Four errors? This team has committed a ton of errors in only nine games.
Posted by: Phils Phan | Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at 09:26 PM
This is not completely on topic but does anyone know if the flyers playoff games will be on comcast at all. All that I have heard and seen is Versus and NBC. Thank god we are not playing the Pens on NBC cuz they think pittsburgh is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Also can I get a sixers update? Thank you for your time.

The MLB gamecast (on MLB.com) is a great way to watch if you can't get it on TV...
