Jimmy Rollins May Have a Broken Bone

Already on the 15-day DL, Jimmy Rollins may have to miss an extended period of time due to a broken bone in his ankle, according to what an unnamed source told Micah Warren. The Phillies have not made any statement to this effect, but an injury that was supposed to have kept him out only a few games has now landed him on the DL, so anything is possible. Here's hoping there's no truth to the report.

If thats the case that would hurt the phillies on more than one level. Besides being a great defensive and offensive player he is definately the vocal leader and I would say heart of this team. We definately need to get shane back soon so we can add more speed to the lineup. Just a thought maybe the phillies should look to moving pedro feliz over to SS and bring dobbs in and play third? I think its pretty clear that bruntlett isnt an everyday player. Looking over Pedro's career he has played SS in atleast a few games. Who knows I am jsut throwing out some ideas.

Darn you Rollins and your MVP-related willingness to play hurt early in the season! I can't help but think that an immediate DL stint could have prevented this extended absence.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that nothing is broken, but... damn, just damn.

what the fuck

way to go Phils, screw yourselves over big time

wait hold up

didnt he have an MRI and an x-ray? how can you miss a broken bone?

Could be the Phillies organization blowing smoke up our asses as they always do. I don't get why they're so secretive about injuries.

I wouldn't put anything past the Phils' HORRENDOUS medical staff.

I don't recall if Rollins had an X Ray, but he definitely had a normal MRI. So unless the Phillies out and out lied about the MRI results, I think this is just a bogus rumor.

Phils didn't release this so they can sell more "MVP Ticket Packages" All about the dollar.

Not that I'm willing to blindly believe the club's official line, but ... who is Micah Warren, and why should I trust anything he "reported," much less an anonymous source who told him something?
