BPS Game Thread: It's Always Sunny In Citizens Bank Park
We could be looking at another great day in Philly sports, with the Phillies getting us through a case of the Thursdays this afternoon and the Flyers taking it to the Caps tonight. Fortunately, the games won't be letting out at the same time like they did on Tuesday.
Brett Myers looks to build on his last outing, facing Astros right-hander Brandon Backe. Backe is off to a good start at 1-1, with a 2.25 ERA and 12 Ks. A look at his 1.69 WHIP and 11 free passes shows that he's ripe for a beating though. Also, Miguel Tejada, the 'roider who Ed Wade traded for the day before the Mitchell Report was released, has aged 2 years in a single day. He'd been lying about his age since 1993, but oddly, all of his US documentation showed it correctly and no one ever discovered it. How's Ed feel about it?
“Fact of the matter is that he plays like he's 25, so I don't think it really matters a whole lot,” said Wade, who indicated the age discrepancy first came out during the course of a media interview. “We're still trying to figure out Jose Cruz Sr's age.”
Ladies and gentlemen, Ed Wade! Good to know ol' Ed's not into buyer's remorse.

Excuse the pun, but the difference in swings between today and the last few games is like night and day. 3-0 Phils on some solid contact.

I don't know if its the bats were asleep last night as much as Oswalt was finally awake. He kinda owns us.
Today is looking bright so far.

The Eagles cheerleaders were on Colbert last night.

Based juiced and a double play?! Howard better kick this slump, or I'm going to kick him in the ass. And then run really quickly away.

How close was the play when Pat was out at home? I DVR'd Colbert, can't wait to watch now!

I'd like to see the Phils play the sound of a horse... neying?... when Myers walks off the mound following his last inning. Cole brings finesse pitching, but Myers is simply a horse.

Everybody hits! Woo Hoo!

Chris Coste never ceases to amaze me with his bat... 4-5 today with a homer and a double and he's hitting 400 right now

Phils win today, Flyers win tonight!

Johnny G: The Phillies offered Lohse a 3 yr/$21 million contract. Lohse passed it up thinking he could do better and ended up being forced to take a 1 yr $ 4.25 million from the Cardinals. The Phillies did try, although they should have done more to get him later which I don't think they tried to do.

Somebody please tell me why Coste is not our everyday catcher.

Most likely carlos ruiz is a better defensive catcher and handles the pitchers better. If that's not the reason, than most likely it is because the Phillies are like every other baseball organization where they don't play the guys who are playing the best, because they see get stuck thinking of them as platoon players.

I can advice you how to convert web movies and put YouTube & MySpace files onto CD/DVD. Get the free trial from http://webvideorip.com - webvideorip.com and test the program on Facebook, YouTube, MySpace, DailyMotion videos. Here's a chance to batch record streaming videos all over the web. BTW, WebVideoRip records any video excellently while you playing it in your browser software window.
I waste 3 hours until at least found this www.the700level.com resource. I think I am here for a long time... :)
