A.J. Feeley Is Always Wanted
The Packers, in search of Aaron Rodgers' back up, are said to be showing interest in on-again-off-again Eagles clip boarder A.J. Feeley: "Among
the rumors circulating at the meetings was the Packers' apparent
interest in veteran quarterbacks A.J. Feeley of the Philadelphia Eagles
and J.P. Losman of the Buffalo Bills. Both are under contract, but have been the subject of trade rumors." [Packers News]
With Kevin Kolb on the bench, it would make sense for the Birds to try and get something for Feeley. Then we can bring back Koy Detmer to be the third stringer. Bring back Neck Beard!

Seriously? The Pack want a back up and they look for AJ Feeley?
We will gladly trade him.

I'd be glad to get rid of AJ. He is supposed to be here for awhile and it wouldn't hurt to get his salary off the books. With Kolb pretty much being a shoe-in for the backup position, there's no need to pay Feeley what his contract says if he's only going to be the emergency QB.
I really think Buffalo is going to keep JP Losman. They are pretty bitter about him whining for a trade so they might let him ride the bench behind Trent Edwards for his last season, plus if Edwards went down, he would be a very solid backup. Feeley to GB sounds like a good deal to me.

A.J. Feely and draft picks to be named later for Greg Jennings.

Not saying I wouldn't trade Feeley, but I'm not quite as excited about the prospect as the rest of you. Having Kolb waiting in the wings makes Feeley a luxury, but not a bad one to have. He's only making about $2 mil per year, so there's no real need to do this from a salary standpoint, and having a solid third option at QB is never a bad thing. Just look at some of the players other teams marched out there last season as injuries mounted and replacements faltered. Plenty of teams were down to their emergency QB, and too often it was not an attractive spot.
Yeah, I'd trade him, but I'd be more interested in obtaining a player or a pick in '09. He can't be worth more than a 4th rounder, and with the three compensation picks the Eagles were awarded, I'm not sure how valuable another mid-round pick is this year. I'm confident the situation will work out to our benefit, but I'm fine with A.J. Feeley sticking around.

AJ has done as much for us when we traded him away as he has done for us on the field. Didn't the Eagles get a second rounder last time they traded him?

Ya, it would be good if we could get something for A.J, then we could bring back Koy Detmer who is the best placeholder in the league.

Feeley can go as far as I'm concerned. Andy talked about building depth and we have it at the QB position right now. I don't care who you throw out on the field as a back-up they are always going to struggle. Feeley threw what....7 interceptions in 2 games last year. It's about time we see what Kolb can do and being the back-up would give him more snaps in practice and prepare him better for next season.
